    At last!

    I've got my PegII working :-)

    As you know, my 40GB HD doesn't work with the PegII (see other thread).
    I've found a discarded 20GB Maxtor HD at my work (really, it was discarded :-)). So I copied all data to this drive, installed the PegII motherboard (again) and tried it with this Maxtor. And it works! :-D

    Some points:

    - If I put my 40GB HD as a slave with the working Maxtor, the firmware stops recognising both harddrives! (it already didn't work with the CD-ROM players, see other thread :-))

    - I've got a 1024x768 24 bit screen. The first time in Ambient my display screen was placed about 8 centimetres lower than it should be! Funny :-)
    I chose another VESA compliant 1024x768 screen and that works.

    - I had already installed IBrowse2.3 and Genesis (with Samba configured in it). Genesis didn't work correctly with IBrowse. I can start it, even can ping everything I want to. But I can't use IBrowse for surfing (no connection). My solution was to reinstall Genesis and configure it again.
    Now it works fine. I have to say the download speed is lower than with my PegI (perhaps because some settings)
    I hope I can install Samba again. (still have to try it)

    That's it for now :-)

    Bye,

    Spidey

    @Robin

    Whenever you're sad just remember the world is 4.543 billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie.

    @Spidey

    First speed comparison done ...

    Pegtoo runs half the speed of of Peg1 :

    Typed 'reboot' in Peg1 and the screen went black.
    With Pegtoo it's 1-2 seconds before it reboots ;-)

    So far I'm totally H A P P Y ! ! ! !
    (Doubled my keyrate for RC5) ;-)

    Hi Robin,

    I just tried the following:

    Cold booting: 19 seconds
    Reseting: 19 seconds

    Previously with my pegI it was around 25 seconds.

    So it is definately quicker.

    Bye,

    Spidey
