    Hello,

I'm trying to install 3.18 after years on a recently acquired imac g5 following the usb installation guide but i actually failed to boot and i'm stuck at the OF screen with the following :

    Quote:

    0 > boot ud:,\boot.img bi umsd0:morphos.iso
    SOF timeout|
    SOF timeoutload-size=1b6734 adler32=cd6017f0

    Loading ELF

    DO-QUIESCE finished_

I understood that something is preventing Morphos to boot so here what i've done until now :
    - Prepared usb stick on a windows pc (mbr/fat32)
    - Tried to boot with old original macos hdd installed -> failed
    - Tried to swap the hdd for a pcie sata ssd (with adapter) prepared on pc/windows too (gpt) and tried to boot on usb -> failed with the same screen.

I suppose the usb key or the ssd is preventing to boot somehow but don't know which path to take.
Can someone hint me ? :)

    Thx

Are you sure you used the correct (mac_ppc64) boot image (and that the ISO file is named morphos.iso)?

open the ISO file by double-clicking it. If you are going to install MorphOS on a G4 Mac, go to the mac_ppc32 directory. For a G5 installation, go to mac_ppc64. Copy the boot.img file to the USB stick.

Probably OpenFirmware cannot handle your stick or stick (partition) is too big.
Try with small partition max 250mb.
