Ok we've all seen simular posts yet I haven't seen anything useful for explinations.

I have a HP DeskJet 694c. I add the printer in the settings printing via parallel port and then try to print out of MorphED and it tells me Turbo print cant find my printer.

    Any help would be great.

Well, I'll use this thread to explain my problem too!

Before having my Pegasos I, I had an A1200 with TurboPrint installed. I was using the driver Canon LBP supplied with TurboPrint for my Canon LBP 4-Lite Laser Printer. It wasn't the most compatible, but at least it was printing correctly most of the time.

Now I use the exact same settings as I did on A1200, but it doesn't print anything or it just print junk characters on the whole page.

I tried printing with Graphic Publisher (included with TurboPrint), CygnusED, MorphED, PAR & PRT drivers, AWeb, etc and it always does the same.

Oh, and BTW, when I set more than 1 printer in the Ambient printers settings, it always selects the first one even if I save settings selecting another one than the first one in the list (so I have to delete all others).

Anyway, I'm gonna buy another printer quite soon (one that is included in the supported printer list), but I hope I won't be experiencing the same issues.

    Thanks ;)

    Hi again ;)

I'm planning on purchasing a new printer soon. I'd simply like to know from you what kind of printer you have which are working 100% under MOS & TurboPrint.

I'd need your printer models and also if you have any recommandations.

Would be great for me to be able to print text with quite a great quality (600dpi+). I'd also need to print in color (mainly for pictures taken with my digital camera).

I also wonder what is best between having a printer with 1 cartridge that does both color & black or having a printer with 2 cartridges for each of them?

Thanks a lot in advance for your input :)

    Regards,
    Fred

    Hello Mithalas,

Did you try other programs to print from?

WordWorth and Final Writer both works with text and graphics and Elena is using Graphics Publisher 7.20. See previous threads and the Beta mailinglist :-)

    Bye,

Nope, i'm not afraid of your red hair ChatDEau;-)

I prefer printers with a separate black ink cartridge.
I'm using a HPDeskjet920C at this moment, not printing much from Pegasos side I'm afraid.

    See my previous post :-)

I have a Epson 740 stylus usb printer. It would print from morphed and from AmigaWriter. yam crashed it. I installed Graphics Publisher and the colors would get all crazy. Can someone please post how to get good color printing in MOS? Could Elena publish her results here>?

I heard the old Amiga program Studio Printer works but it probably doesnt support new printers..
I just got an epson stylus c64 I wonder if I'll be able to use it?

    @ Magnetic

If you want to print from Linux I would suggest using CUPS.

    @ ChatDEau,

I'm using a Canon S400 with my Pegasos.
This printer has both an USB connector and a parallel connector. Both connectors do work with my Pegasos (albeit I have the USB connected to my Pegasos and the parallel to a PC now).

This printer also has 4 separate ink tanks - very good if you plan to print a lot of pictures as you can change them separately.

The software I use for printing is AmiWriter for text (which I bought for EUR 15,00 at Haage & Partner) and GrafikPublisher for pictures (which I had from an old TP installation).

Only drawback of this printer was that - when I didn't print for several months - the noozles for the black color were jammed and I could't clean them anymore, therefore I had to buy a new print head (about EUR 55,00).

    Hi HAK
I have a Epson Stylus C84 Usb printer and I can't get it to work with pegasos II. I can see in Poseidon 2.2 that the printer is listed with the device 'usbparallel.device'.
But how do you get turbo print to send to the usb printer.
I have tried putting usbparallel.device in the device requester box.
The printer works well in my x86 linux box.

    Thanx,
    Nels

What version of Grafik Publisher do you have and how do you install it/where do you put it? Do you get full 24bit printing in nice color? How is the speed?
I have succesfully printed from MorphEd, AmigaWriter, and other text apps. However, when i tried to print images the colors were ruined...

I have heard that if you have an older printer you can use Studio Printer Pro or something like that for good output..

I just bought an EPSON c64 inkjet with seperate tanks and I'd like to use it for Linux and MOS.. any tips are appreicated.

    Hi there!

The best would be to wait until MOS 1.5 is out. There should be some more bugs fixed for the printing stuff as well.

Even my supported printer isn't working fully and can't print in color because of some issues with the included TurboPrint.

    We'll all see then ;)
    Fred

N.B.: "my supported printer" = HP Deskjet 5150 USB
