Hi,

Is there a release roadmap available for MorphOS? I purchased a G4 MacMini a while back and I see that 3.11 is the latest version. Is there a 3.12 release due soon?

And now seriously: It's not secret that 3.12 is "in the works". If everything goes fine I expect it this quarter. If not, then I believe "this year" is a good guess.

About a roadmap: I guess there's no "spokesman" in the Team to gather all the bits and pieces of information for us in a nice presentation as Fab did 6 years ago at Alchimie party 2013 (as I see most of the "promised" stuff is already here, maybe apart from "support for more G5 models").

I know and understand the reasoning behind the MorphOS Dev. Team's policy of not talking about development progress until new parts of the OS are ready (or almost ready) for a release, but a general roadmap I consider to be different than them speaking out about specific targets and components that they are considering adding to their work.

I'd be happy to rent a table at this year's AmiWest Show in October, to share a new MorphOS roadmap with the attendees of the show, as I am sure many others would do the same at different MorphOS and Amiga shows or gatherings in the EU and elsewhere.

I just watched the video from the link provided in a new thread about the Raptor Engineering TalosII & Blackbird motherboards using IBM Power9 PPC CPU's and "Open Architecture", and it made me wonder (and hope) that MorphOS can continue development on such PPC hardware, as well as making the switch to x64 hardware that is cheap and easily obtainable. I know that such thoughts are not really feasible given the small size of the development team, and that it is unreasonable to expect them to support two architectures with so few people working on MorphOS, but damn, those Power9 systems sure are sweet!
