I usually feel emotionally attached to my special machines, the old Amigas, the way i felt for the Pegasos, and even these old G4 Macs. I will never feel anything for a taiwanese PC.
You could buy an AMD Ryzen 5 laptop now, let it gather dust in the meantine and in some 5+ years when MorphOS x86_64 gets released this machine will also be ye trusty olde legacy hardware.
I do like my PPC hardware too - but it's nice to have more options in the future! If at some (hopfully distant) point in the future both of my Powerbooks cease functioning and I am not motivated for diagnosis/research/repair I could just buy some more commaon AMD hardware (whatever will be supported) at that time. That's certainly a plus.
