Power9 and the T2080 for sure would be nice if they were our only future option but they would also more of the same old.
An underpowered 1size-must-fit-all laptop and overpowered(priced) server/workstation misused for a desktop.
I would really like to have a silent/small desktop (say miniITX with space for 1 PCIe as long as onboard GFX ain't no option) and laptop of my desired spec that can double to run mainstream OSes at 202x speed if needed.
