No, the link in the first post of this thread doesn't work here either with OWB.. or to be more precise, it doesn't work with the default settings, but it does work if I spoof OWB as some other browser. If I don't spoof, Google+ page tells me that my browser isn't supported. Spoofing as Safari or any other browser makes it work and the image can be displayed then.
