I had always knew there was an equivalent to Internet and Messaging in the 1970s.

I watched Mary Tyler Moore, which includes a dry erase marker white board as early as 1970.

It also includes "The News Wire" or "News Ticker" or just "The Wire".

In original "Charlie's Angels" includes a "Stock Ticker". as well as "Radio Phones". and Paging.

"The Wire" uses Teleprinters, which is similar to Fax.

But I never knew that Web Browsing existed as early as 1985.

Apparently one of the other computing pioneers just like Commodore or Atari or Digital or Acorn. etc.

and they created the first website.

Unfortunately their website is "Modern" now. It is over-designed to look like a preschool video game. Other websites have done the same thing, but the entire Symbolics website takes a lot of getting used to. I will try to look at again.

But I still am curious to see the original Symbolics design.

Apparently it is only the Splash Page that looks like a video game.

Sure, my former employer at Delmar Company, Ed Gressick, once asked me if I knew anyone that would let him use their University of Delaware internet log on in the mid-80s.
I remember asking him "Why, there's nothing on it", the irony has never escaped me.

The 68K processor kind of hobbles along to this day, but the internet has become an essential service.
I wish I'D had the sense that my friend had back that long ago.

    Wow, that was confusing.

Other than a deterring example of how *not* to do interfaces, I'm kind of puzzled about the purpose of that site...?
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

Apparently films playing in the background of the website, with no option to stop playback, is now "Trending".
