Just kidding, but it does seem like there are very few MorphOS users here in North America and I wish we had more MorphOS users in the USA, to share the experience with. I don't dislike AmigaOS4.1FE or their users and developers (well, with the exception of one person at Hyperion), but I do wish MorphOS had a more active user base here, as I really believe that it is a superior OS, with great developers working on the OS itself. AmigaOS4.1 has some great 3rd party developers, and currently is enjoying the paid for increase in new 3rd party software development, thanks to one specific company, but the progress on the OS is so glacially slow, with no communication from the parent company or its developers allowed, that negates 99% of the positive energy being put into that platform.

I sometimes think that MorphOS needs something to give it a kick toward better recognition and the appreciation of more users, but I have no idea what that "kick" could be, or how it would happen. I would love to see the MorphOS user base grow larger, and gain new 3rd party developers, as well as new members for the MorphOS Development Team, to reinvigorate the team and spread out the workload, so that the few members doing the lion's share of the work don't get burned out on the project.

I can't even get the developer of Cinnamon Writer to take a Mac Mini system from me (with a registered copy of the OS no less).

OS4 development?
It always been glacial.
That's what makes the goals for 4.2 so amusing.

But...they are hobbyist OS'.
What I would love to see is more software development.

Anyway, I've overeaten, played nice with my relatives, and contacted a few friends across the globe today.
Its been a good day.
I have to dive back into some work with Excel tomorrow (not my favorite software package), so...its ice cream and apple pie and an early bedtime.

This list from 3 years ago had 34 users from the US. All gone but four (#2, #17, #26, #38)? :-)

Well, I'll get my X5000 (hopefully), MorphOS for that (again...), and we already have an R500 3D driver that will allow an X1950XTX to work with that (and hope for more if our developers don't get too discouraged).

Freescale, the last reminant of Motorola Semi is gone, Applied Micro is about to be shredded, one of the few companies pursuing PPCs is a Chinese company that won't even respond to e-mails.
And Power8 isn't geared toward desktop use.

Good we have this thing called internet. My nearest MorphOS fellows don't live far away, maybe 20 km or so (AFAIK even Laire lives just around 50km away from me), but eventually I don't meet them in real life, I don't even know who they are. But there are these nice forums and mail and chat and and and.
Look, you live a few thousand km away from me and nothing stops us to talk about MorphOS. I like that.

Happy thanksgiving - would like be overeaten by a nice turkey meal, too (actually I had pasta today which was not bad either).

I can exchange messages with you, I sent a note to Bigfoot today, and I can honestly say I've got friends from Europe, Russia, Australia, etc.

We have made the world smaller and more closely connected with our technology.

I am sure there are a few others who just lurk around here but do not post as often I am one of them. I have a PowerBook G4 1.67Ghz with an unreg. version of MorphOS 3.9 running. Hello from Chesapeake/Virginia Beach VA and happy belated Thanksgiving!!
