Does the CPU/GPU have sufficient cooling?
Does the problem persist when booting from CD?
Did you try turning Enhanced Display or Screenbar modules off?

    Do you have yWeather.sbar installed?
It may crash the PSM, if the network needs more time to come up or there are problems to open/load the sbar for the first time.
Its (probably) because of a bug in ECX's library generation code (which I already fixed!).
I can send you a test version if you want.

I have a similar 'Public Screen Manager' exception when my MacMini starts up, and I too have yWeather installed/running from startup as a screenbar module, so is this likely to be an issue until v3.10 is released?

It does not exhibit this same (PSM) exception every time my system boots, but I get it about 20% of the time when booting, and usually the next time it reboots this issue doesn't appear..

I've sometime the same (or similar) "Public Screen Manager" - problem on all MACs (PB, G5, Mini), but it always works after a second reboot. This occures since MOS3.9 and rarely also with naked MOS3.9 installation.........
EFIKA with MOS3.9 (till yet) and PegasosII (MOS3.8) are not influenced....

I have disabled YWeather and indeed this does not bug anymore.
    I keep testing.

I am reassured, I am not the only one to have this worry.

    PS: google translate... grrrrr :-)

Hi, I just uploaded v1.18 of yWeather.sbar with the fixed library generation code.
Please, could you test this version and report if it fixes the boot problem?

I've swapped over to v1.18, and I'll comment here if there are any issues in the future with yWeather v1.18, but so far it's running smoooothly, and thanks for hopefully fixing this issue so quickly. 8-D

    Hello igracki.

This last week I had a little problem with yweather. During some days, I didn't have internet connection and when MorphOS booted, Ambient was kinda blocked: couldn't open any volumes, inserted usb disk didn't show nor dock icons worked.

Short story is that if yweather.sbar is used when connected to wifi but with no internet access, it blocks Ambient. But if router is off or no pcmcia wifi card when booting, then yweather fails but doesn't block Ambient, which I think should be the same in the first case.

I know is not a normal situation but thought it might be better to report.
