** Originally this thread was about an ebay paying issue - which actually resolved itself - this time it is OWB I believe **

I have left the original thread comments in so it makes more sense (I hope) - due to ASiegel's comment lower down

I was trying to pay for an item on eBay tonight, and kept getting the - Error code: 70001, so it seems that OWB v1.24 is no longer working with the new eBay/PayPal payment system and OWB maybe useless for this purpose. * * * SEE UPDATE * * *

That is, unless someone knows of a workaround for this issue, or there is a setting that can be changed to allow OWB v1.24 to still work with these sites?

I tried spoofing as other browsers but that didn't seem to make any difference, and making the payment through TenFourFox (Firefox) went through without any trouble.

    *** update *** 40 minutes later (approx)
    ==============================
I clicked a payment link - to make a payment through eBay/PayPal, and the payment went through without any issue that time . . . weird !!
So, those worries seem to be over in that regard. Phew !!

So, here is the NEW issue

This is a limitation of OWB that has made viewing my web based mail inaccessible using OWB. I have tried spoofing as all the available options, and I have removed all my cookies for the site and started the browser again, but it has made no difference.

The webpage causing this issue is: webmail @ vispa.net

If this should be reported through a bug report then I will do that, but as I said, it's not really a bug, just a limitation of the current JavaScript engine - I believe, though it's possible it could be something else, but as far as I am aware it's restricted to the current version of OWB - version 1.24.

The webpage causing this issue is: webmail @ vispa.net

For information Safari v4 and even IE v8 cannot load this page, but current versions of TenFourFox, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera can!

I have tested the login page with

    1.23 - no trouble
    1.24 ..... nothing happens
    1.20 - no trouble

well because of the SSL problems 1.24 is not the end of the line afaik.
that is why it has not been in the release of 3.9

You are so right - v1.23 loads the page OK, but not v1.24 - which seems weird, but I now seem to remember that v1.24 was released with an older version of OpenSSL, which may well be the issue here then, and not JavaScript. So as you say all should be OK.

I hadn't thought to try an older version of OWB, as I'd not had any issues with v1.24 before - that I am aware of, but now if I come across an issue that stops a page from loading I'll certainly launch v1.23 to give it a chance to load the page.

Thanks for your trouble defender, it really is appreciated. 8-D

I'll mark this page as [SOLVED]

Yes, as most recently discussed 2 days ago.

Just make sure it's v1.23 from the MorphOS 3.9 ISO then (with OpenSSL 1.0.1o), not v1.23 from Fab's site, as that has an even older version (OpenSSL 1.0.0j) than v1.24 (OpenSSL 1.0.1g).

Ah yes!, However, 2 days is a long time in the life of a fish! Strangely enough though I remembered it! 8-D
Hey, that was almost a joke/sarcasm - so just be careful with the Deutsch/German reputation of not being joke tellers - or you'll end up getting into trouble. :-P

I will certainly bear that good advice in mind. Thanks Andreas ;-)
