    @boot_wb,

    I hope you will be adding this detailed set of YouTube instructions to the MorphZone.org Library, either combined with another doc., or as a stand alone document.

    @jacadcaps,

    Sorry to read that you need a visa to enter the USA, that really sucks. If you need an invitation from a U.S. resident to apply for the visa, I would be happy to provide one. It would be great to have you attend the 2016 AmiWest Show. I would even be willing to donate towards your transportation and lodging expenses, as well as inquire if other U.S. MorphOS users would chip in to entice you to attend. It would be really great to have one of the MorphOS Dev. Team members at AmiWest giving a presentation and/or answering questions from the audience.

    Let me know if there is any way we can persuade you to attend the 2016 AmiWest show.

    @ASiegel & deka,

    I like both of your posts as ideas for adding content to the official MorphOS install CD. A video presentation of some of the most commonly used features and programs for MorphOS would be very helpful to new users, and it could be made optional during the install process, so old time users could skip past it with only one mouse click. Adding some or all of the documents from the MorphZone.org Library to the official install CD is also a great idea, or at least the documents aimed at new users. I can't imagine that it would be difficult to do either of these suggestions, except for the actual time and effort needed to create the video for beginners. I hope that the MorphOS Dev. Team members will consider these suggestions for the release of 3.10. I am sure one or more MorphOS users will volunteer to create the video presentation, as that would be wasting valuable programming time from one of the team members.

    As for the "Show All Files" situation, I don't want it to be exactly like Windows, MacOSX, or Linux. I am sure the MorphOS Dev. Team and our users can come up with a more elegant, yet just as effective solution, unique to MorphOS.

    Edit: I agree that the default option for showing files should be more user friendly for beginners, or some kind of clearly visible way of informing users that hidden files are present, should be incorporated into the MorphOS file lister. On the topic of adding content to the install CD, if the Dev. Team is opposed to it, perhaps Papiosaur can be talked into providing these suggestions on the Chrysalis disc, but that disc image is already very large, so some other content might have to be discarded to allow the Chrysalis package to fit on a standard size CD disc.

    Edit #2: Having an .iso image that is larger in size of bytes might even make some of the fools happier, who think it makes a difference in what price should be charged for MorphOS. ;-)

    [link updated - previous one had a broken script]
    See this post for link

    - Double-click ISO
    - double-click the script.

    Hardly seems worthy of a page really. :)

    It will:
    - download the latest scripts (fullscreen fix only) for you;
    - reset prefs to defaults (based on file generated from a fresh install), but with media content has been enabled and loopfilter set to skip all frames;
    - install a modified blocked.prefs file anyway, just in case you enable adblock in future;
    - install a modified url.prefs file to disable plugins on the youtube domain (http & https), just in case you install and activate the flash plugin;
    - install a modified userscripts.prefs to enable the youtube fullscreenfix userscript;
    - backup any changed files;
    - spew text into a log file to tell you what has happened.

    Shouldn't be needed anymore. Have you tried without it?

    I have (without any scripts installed), but the youtube provided player proved non-responsive (ie never started playing). My mistake - it played, but obviously without fullscreen.

    I'd be interested to know if it worked for you?
    Please clarify though: I assume (for practical reasons of viewing video as a moving image :P ) that you're suggesting installing youtube_fullscreen_fix.js, but not youtube.js?

    EDIT: Just tested and that works nicely (it also looks tidier than with youtube.js).
    I'll modify the ISO & script immediately tomorrow eve as I'm out babysitting in a few mins.

    In the meantime it does work as is, and gets anyone up and running on Youtube with a couple'o'double-clicks.
    .
    If anyone uses it, they can simply disable/remove the youtube html5 converter using OWB's Windows>Scripts menu if desired.

    @boot_wb,

    Thanks for that download. I will be trying it out on my G5 PowerMac, which currently has only a base install, plus the Chrysalis package. I might need to do a clean re-install of MorphOS3.9, if I am unsuccessful in creating a dual boot MorphOS & MacOSX system on the existing MorphOS only hdd. Either way, I will try your iso and let you know if I run into any problems with it.

    Will this .iso image be available from the MorphZone.org Library in the future?

    Yes, youtube.js has never been needed here for me.

    Correct.

    You might want to download that again... the last one had a mildly broken script. Whoops!

    I ended up buying morphOS just to support the development of anything non-windoze, I still cant get youtube working, and am waiting on my registration ATM. The community here is really great and willing to help, and thats a sure plus.

    One other thing that won't work is the synergy client with SSL. I guess its not completely needed on a local network with firewall, but I like to use the SSL for all my other machines and I need to turn off SSL for all of them to get MorhOS to connect.

    Did you try the script above?

    I've just updated it to make it simpler, and avoid a pitfall or two (script now runs from the ISO - no need to copy files; is now tolerant of the flash plugin; script tidied up). Links in previous posts above have been removed.

    New link (18/06/2016)

    If you could try once more - if it fails please post the contents of ram:t/owbscript.log

    Polish nationals need a passport and a visa to enter US.

    Anyone else find this offensive?
    I could understand it if you intended to work, we get Summer workers from Poland each year at my State's beach resorts.
    But a visa just to visit?
    There has to be someone I can bring up this issue with.
    Its asinine.
