    hello,

I want to report, that the "Mounter" tool freezes my system, as soon as I start to scan for devices.

When hitting "ide.device", it produces a list (about 13 partitions - yes, that´s right and ok) but after that, it stops responding.

Even worse, nothing else (except the mouse pointer) responds anymore...

Any ideas where to dig / how to fix it?

    kind regards

so no ideas what I can do to fix this? I already did "update installation" from CD again, but no success...

Ok, I checked a few things and must do a little correction:

The system does not freeze, I can still right-click and leave ambient/restart system*

But the Mounter Window can not be closed or updated anymore, just moving around works.

Now, when booting the live-cd, it´s the same issue, as soon as Mounter lists all partitions.
When I plug in USB stick and click on that device, everythings allright and mounter still works.
But when clicking the harddisk device, it freezes after producing the partition´s list...

*edit again: not everytime, sometimes this is not possible anymore!

no, after installing some software and playing "Goobnies", the system decided to freeze forever.

when I try to boot now, screnn stay white. when booting from cd, it says something about DH1 unfinished transaction and so on... I will make a new thread or give up

I did a re-install (completely wiped MOS partitions) and face the same problem, again.
Maybe there is a limit in number of partitions (13) or it is because I got debian linux (yaboot) and OSX (bootstrap) installed next to MOS?

The high partition count results in OSX making kind of "padding partitions 8MB" before and after every partition (exept after the last partition)

    I´ve basically made 6 partitions...

Oh - HDConfig seems to work fine...

Maybe 1.9GB is too small for a MOS SFS "DH1" partition? (DHO is 55MB, 53MBfree)

Maybe there´s a relation between this and that?

I´d really like to sort it out!

1.9GB isn't too small for DH1. MorphOS itself fits just fine on it, and plenty of other stuff too.

I have 12 partitions on my Pegaos1 machine (one FFS, one Ext2, one Linux swap, rest SFS), and Mounter works fine with it. So, either it's because you have one partition more, or some exotic partition/combination revealing some bug.
