What would be the easiest way/ways to have a startup jingle playing when Ambient starts? In WBStartup or/and user-startup that is.

Try to put a line like the following in SYS:Prefs/Ambient/Advanced.conf:

sfx_boot = "MOSSYS:Data/BootJingles/Essential_Sound_-_Morphos_Intro.mp3"

You can create a Sample with adjusted Volume using Sox.
e.g. sox -v 0.5 input.mp3 output50.mp3
