I fully agree, but unfortunatly I never had OS X.
Btw I tried with a WiFi extender, but I have a another issue with a "duplicate ip" warning coming from the TCP/IP stack (I don't have this issue with the same extender at home).
I'll try to specify ip/gateways manually in case there is a dhcp issue.
