But that's what my question you answered to (and xyphoid's statement I asked about) was about ;-)

    > The point is for excel files, one no longer needs additional OS,
    > even though it is run by Basilisk.

    Basilisk needs MacOS :-)

    > this is better than i.e. AmiCYgnix

I don't think so, but that's rather a matter of opinion, I guess. While I can accept your opinion on this matter, I certainly won't adopt it.

I don't understand. Could you go in more detail on what "shares some directory" means?

    > I will email them

Thanks. Keep us posted on the result, please.

    > they seem to have new efika too

Yes, new Efika 5200B boards and systems are still in stock at a number of retailers.

    > Do you know of any other "elsewhere"?

"I wasn't even aware that new Pegasos boards or systems could even be purchased nowadays."

I think you can conclude my answer to your question from what I wrote before ;-) I still have problems to imagine that any new Pegasos II can be purchased 4.5 years after production stop and 4 years after Genesi sold the last one to a retailer.

Well guys were showing me AmiCygnix about a year ago on local fairs. The point is when you edit sth via Gnumeric, the only way to make the file accessible by AmigaOS is to... email it.

Basilisk can safe vile to a directory visible by MorphOS. Hence I concluded, it's a better way.

Maybe Efika then? Sorry, I'm too much addicted to getting new stuff, maybe it's just a habit you know? But still, I await PPC notebook (no rush here). Besides, I like to have Mac OS X again.
Was: Mac Mini PPC running MorphOS 2.4
Now: Amiga Forever 2010 with AmiKit and AmigaSYS
Not used: Icaros Desktop 1.2 (reason: no wifi)
    Planned soon: an OS4 system
Shortly then: a MOS notebook (wifi is a must-have)

I don't think that's true. Watch that Youtube video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaEj00l5d5w

...and spot at 0:25, 0:53 and 1:50 in the file requester the AmigaOS volumes that are accessible from within AmiCygnix environment.

    > Maybe Efika then?

I've been under the impression you're going to decide between Sam440 and Pegasos II in order to run OS4. Efika 5200B can't run OS4.

    mine:

    1) a new PDF viewer application (very important)
    2) a simple CPU temp utility (for PowerMac G4 and other Mac models) for exemple in .sbar modules :-)
    3) a tree view in Ambient as in OSX finder (very useful)
    4) SCSI and SATA controllers (Symbios and SiI3x1x) full supported/usable in PowerMac G4 (and Pegasos2)
    5) FTP server service full integrated in the O.S. (using "Users" in MorphOS preferences)
    6) a GUI and scriptable for SMBFS (and a more complete version)
    7) SMB service full integrated in the O.S. (and newer version)
    8) full support 2D and 3D for ATI Radeon 9800 (and 9700, 9600 models)
    9) a way to virtualize OSX 10.4.x and 10.5.x in MorphOS itself
    10) new 3D relased and some new good games 3D

As I saw it (which was March 2009 roughly), this feature was not supported at the time.

I know. I mean either used PegII (which I dislike) or Sam+Efika then (too low specs then) or Sam+MacBook (refurbished and OSX additionally).

I will see at the time I will have my money ready.

    EDIT* typos

Most recent AmiCygnix is from December 2008. So if the "feature" has been supported in August 2010 (date of video) how couldn't it have been supported in "March 2009 roughly"?

What about your consideration of a new Pegasos II? Did eFUNZINe answer your query yet?

    > or Sam+Efika then (too low specs then) or Sam+MacBook

MacBook? You're speculating on MorphOS for x86? ;-)

That's funny, maybe these guys didn't know the feature :-)

    Yes, I'd say so.

OK so MacBook being the Intel one. Right.

Now I feel an advanced Apple user, thanks ;-)

There's the same machine offered used for a little cheaper:

Apparently, the owner wrestled with finding any use for the machine in his home ;-)
