    Thanks for sharing this article. Interesting read. Would be nice if that article had some benchmark values from a ppc native application included.

    Indeed. It might be that the PPC code created by Trance is not so favourable to PPC970. AFAIK, there haven't been any G5-specific optimizations made in Trance.

    so, will a flashed 9800XT now be a worthy replacement for the mac edition 9000 pro 128Mb in my G4 ?

    MorphOS 3.4 with same setup Pmac G5 & Radeon 9650, Quake 3 still crashes. I'll try my 9800 later today.

    With 9800 XT 256MB and the same configuration used by Amike I have:
    1260 frames
    17.7 secs
    71.2 fps !!
