I think that error means that one of the several different database files that Grunch uses to locate, download, and install it's many programs could not be found because the link to that database file could not be found. Possibly because the server where that file is located was down when you ran Grunch.
It is my (limited) understanding that Grunch uses database files that are created by several different programmers, who have written the Grunch installation files in the Grunch format, for one or several different programs. These files are placed into a database file which is then read by Grunch and Grunch automatically checks for new versions of these database files from all the different programmers who are writing them, every time you start Grunch up, so it always has the latest versions. Grunch uses all of these database files to install, uninstall, or update all of it's programs.
I am not sure, but I think Grunch keeps a copy of the last version of each database, so if it can't connect to the link to any of the database file servers to check for a new version of any of the database files, it will use the last version of that particular database file that it has downloaded the last time it was able to connect and download that particular database.
All of this is guess work on my part about how the Grunch program works, as I am really too lazy to read the docs for most programs.
