Probably morphos-files.net is the best place you should start your search. Extract the archive and run the installer script (this time the process should be painless).

@koszer - You are a great guy; always giving the best support. You rock. Many, many thanks. Your link with PowerSDL library worked like a vaccine. In fact it install the whole missing library.

It is a pitty to see a great platform such as MorphOS, releasing such a "bugsy" upgrade. My v3.0 was rock solid. The only problems I had encountered were due to my own unfamiliarity with MOS. I hope they find a way to prevent this from happening in future releases or updates/

I'm afraid that as I continue re-insdtalling the apps I was running in 3.0 before, I may encounter more problems, so I'm hoping I can count on someone like you... :-)

I toyed around for two hours and didn't notice anything wrong. I think most of your problems are because of your lack of experience with the system. Give it a month or two and you'll not ask anymore why powersdl is too old and where to download it from :)

@ hooligan - So could you please tell me why the quote feature in the posts of the forum won't work? Or why Oddissey loads the fonts everytime aftre launching? Please keep in mind, that yes, I'm novice in MOS (wlel, with 30 years of experience using computers for scientific applications), that I ran a trouble-free fresh installation of MOS 3.1 and as a result of that I'm expericncing this small glitches.

I'm not bashing anything or anyone, on the contrary, I value and I appreciate I'm receiving, but IMHO these "little things: should be look at. Funny thing, I work in the fiel of high accuracy measurement in 3D, and our company deals with highly sophisticated pieces of sw, so I know a LITTLE about sw releases.

In any case, I am happy so far, and more happy with the quality of people I have met and I am interacting with. ...Merci, Danke, Thanks!

    2. Everytime I launch Oddissey, the application looks for and loads the fonts. This was never the case with 3.0

This is not actually Odyssey problem. Fontconfig.library should autogenerate config files to SYS:Fonts/Fontconfig. You could try deleting #?.cache files from this directory and try again. Please let me know if it helps or not.

It should reload fonts only if new fonts were added since font caches were generated. If filedate is wrong or font dir is touched it could cause system to reload fonts every time OWB is launched.

I doubt the MorphOS installation/upgrade program uses the Installer application.

One of a number of MorphZone bugs. Nothing to do with the browser.

    > the "quote" functionality when replying posts is not longer working.

"Not longer"? When have you seen it last working?

Hmm, about two years ago (I know it was a rhetoric question, but I still had a few spare sentences to put to internet to increase world's entropy)? Dunno exactly, but it's as long ago as the post count is replaced with thos "_MD_MESSAGES_FROM" string when logged in. Funnily within the news comments it still works. Maybe one day it will be fixed - as an AmigaoidOS user you'll never give up hope ;-)

Downloaded and installed the MOS3.1 update on my Powerbook. No problems. :-)

However, I also experienced the loss of date with MOS3.0 coupled with a corruption to the Network settings which woud not let me teset the Network using

One thing I hadn't realised is the gfx drivers for the PowerBook are WIP and do not yet support any 3D software like Neverball etc. (Not that I am a big games player these days).

But then, the news comments section has other bugs, like when you re-edit a comment containing special characters.

I can tell you that after at least 3 reboots, I haven't seen the problem with the fonts showing up again in OWB.

I have 30 years of experience in computers aswell, and if I was put in front of any Linux distribution I would be totally lost. You don't drive a car well without practise either :-)

Ah, okay. I suspect file date was slightly off and caches were not kept.

@ koszer - The upgrade from an ISO image worked after two attempts, but I still don't get OWB to display quotes in my replies in this forum......I'm confused

Because you don't copy the text you want to quote between quote tags when you're replying? At least I have to do that manually every time, but at least there are tags ready so you don't have to think about them. Or does it automatically join the text there with some other browser?

looks like a very minor upgrade, with lots of things being fixed that most of us wouldn't have never noticed. Nice though, an upgrade is still a step to get closer to 3D and wifi to make the powerbook really usable.
