same issue with my alu keyboard, a double frustration as i sold my Bluetooth mac keyboard and bought this one thinking it would work on morphos as it works on my efika.

any hope to get it supported anytime soon ? too bad to swap keyboards from an OS to another.

Thanks for the answers (i need to apply them) but i cant beliebe that 32mb arent enought for mos and with linux or osx works without flickerings.

PD: This is a thread from issues on 2.4 dual boot is another topic i think.

I have a MacMin, uA1-C and Efika attached to a monitor through a KVM switch. MacOS, Morphos and AmigaOS4,1 all display fine on the Monitor screen, when selected.

However, when I attempt to boot the MacMini off the MorphOS 2.4 CDROM the monitor displays out of frequency range while MorphOS boots. It remains out od range after the boot process has completed. If I remove the KVM switch from the setup and connect the MacMini directly to the monitor the display is fime. I'm actually posting this from OWB on the MacMini.

I had that same problem using a PS/2 KVM switch with a Peg II and, something else, MorphOS seems to try to read the screen type everytime it starts so if there's no screen comes up with daft settings, they worked on my monitor, but was too small, I never worked out a way to solve that, so I simply removed the switch. Sorry if I'm not being much help for you today Trev!

    Anyway, on my system:-

1 the volume module on the title bar doesn't seem to work, move it up and down and no effect. In the mixer in the WBStartup there is nothing in the output or input tab. Sound works, and I can change the volume using the bar in Amiamp.

2 Either the headphone socket or in the internal speaker work, but if I plug it in or take it out, it dosn't switch between the two without a reboot.

    3. I've got a ?A1 with 32mb of ram, the performance of 2/3 screen at 1280/1024*24 is about the same. ie not pleasant. Is there an easy way to see the amount of chip 'video' ram free?

Edited to add, other than that, it's been very good, no crashes or anything! See, this isn't just a thread for 8aters!

Stephen: the sound control is just a MOS thing which should be fixed in a near future because it's quite annoying when you are running some application which has no sound control (demos for example) and you are using a headphones connected straight to your mini - it's so loud :)

EDIT: I forgot to add what my issue is. It's the slow internet connection, comparing to the same machine under MacOSX it's about 2 times slower. Max what im getting is about 400kb/s when downloading from the internet which on MacOSX i'm getting about 800kb/s. The same story was on my Pegasos 2. Does anyknow knows how to get it sorted?

Linux and OSX flicker like mad but TFT monitors usually hide (most?) of it. They are a nightmare (my opinion) on CRTs.
Try to disable both double and triple buffering in the DisplayEngine prefs if you want to save some VRAM. Or disable "Enhanced Display" in every screen's config to get ride of composition.

    Try this:
    1. boot without your KVM
    2. find the *exact* monitor file name generated by ddc.library (in SYS:Prefs/Presets/Monitors IIRC)
    3. put this *exact* name into the ENVARC:CyberGraphX/RadeonMonitor file (this is an ASCII file)
    4. put back your KVM
    5. reboot
    6. screenmodes automatically created by ddc.library at step 1 should be available without asking your monitor hardware anymore

Internet isn't required by the installation process. You only need it to register.

There is no need to remove OSX, just create the needed partitions from Disk Utility.

    Follow the guide :)

    @ jacadcaps

just to be clear, (it said clean install on hd) can i install morphos 2.4 over the existing macmini hd with osx, without losing my setup? I would like to keep the files and programs i currently have on it.
    thanks

Help! I am trying to install MorphOS2.4 on my G4 MacMini and, like an idiot, I can't remember the password to boot up into MacOSX so I can make room and new partitions on the hard drive to start the installation process per jacadcaps excellent installation guide.

I bought my MacMini many months ago and have not used it enough to remember the login password. I really need to start writing down all of my passwords somewhere for all of my programs and computers, and then make it a habit to change them every one or two months for security.

Is there a way to retrieve, or reset my login password by using the OSX install DVD?

Yes, i try this the first day, autoadjustment have a less flickering but if you have good eyes you can still apreciate it where pixels are closer, something like moire effect, theres a tool in mos for it.

Yes, however you need to boot the Leopard install DVD to do this safely. Tiger doesn't resize partitions and any changes in the current layout will FORMAT all partitions!

Is there a way to turn the sound off on a temporary basis?
Even with earphones plugged into a mac min, it's still very loud.

Sure, it's being worked on and we hope to get it supported in the next release but don't expect it in a week or two (just look at the previous release cycles ....). We just didnt want to delay the release any further.

It doesn't require a reboot but a relaunch of the application doing sound output. E.g. for mplayer it should be enough to stop/start a movie and switch inbetween. This will be addressed/improved in a future release.

Well, I was not successful in saving my previous OSX install and programs, but I did finally get MOS2.4 installed and working on my G4 MacMini. In fact I am typing this from OWB on the MacMini right now. MOS2.4 on the Mini seems very fast. Hooray! Thanks MOS Dev Team, you have made my week.

    ok who's right?
    jpv says
Google tells that diskutil has got the resizeVolume option since 10.4.6 version of the OSX.

    jacadcaps says
You can resize partitions with Leopard or Ubuntu. It is not possible to boot MorphOS from USB, it has to be installed on the internal hard drive.

    and amigadave says
Well, I was not successful in saving my previous OSX install and programs

I'm still waiting on a definitive answer before proceeding and risk losing the data on the mac drive.
