Geeze, ssolie..you know I like and respect you, except when this comes out..really - give it a rest. On the one hand, asking 'who is coming with MOS systems/software/demos/etc?' is great, really.

But of course, that wouldn't be 'enough.' You seemingly can't leave it at something that might be a *positive*, instead bringing in your 'fascination' with some numbers around MOS/who's getting it, and it turns into a slam and goading instead.

If you have *real* interest, then ask it, but really, this just keeps going over the top. I don't even *post* on MZ, and it's obvious to me and many others, the same 'theme' is prevalent - some level of technical or other interest, but overshadowed by seeming 'offenses' or digs that you can't leave alone. You posted an apology, but *still* can't simply leave some things alone.

Meh. As I may yet be attending this thing, I'd be happy to bring my Peg 2 with both OS4 and MOS on it, but I don't own the latest MOS yet, and I'd be a poor candidate to 'show it off.' Sorry. I may bring it and slap a MOS sticker on it just to see if it makes you turn colors or something.

Why not start TWO threads, and be *nice* in one of them, just asking for people with MOS systems to come to the show? And a second, for your trolling and snide comments, which really *should* be beneath you.. this is actually getting kind of embarrassing.

Back to lurk mode I go. I hope we will see some MOS folks in attendance, if I make it or not.

Who is planning on coming to AmiWest 2009 in October at Sacramento, California, USA?

I would love to have some help demonstrating MorphOS2.2 on my Efika to the people attending the show. There was actually quite a bit of interest in looking at it from several people at the show last year and this year the show is going to be longer and hopefully bigger with more attendance.

I am trying to set up a game competition with prizes of Amiga hardware and/or software for the top 3 winners, but have not worked out the details with the show organizers yet.

There is also a chance that Software Hut will be represented at the show and will have some items for sale there in addition to the show's usual sponsor, AmigaKit and Individual Computers.

So, try to fit that weekend into your schedules and make your travel plans now to get there.

Edit: I will also be bringing my G4 PPC MacMini to the show and hope that MorphOS3.0 will be finished by then, or if not, I hope the development team will allow me to run a beta version to show what progress has been made up to that date, but I understand that they may not agree to allow me to have a beta copy. I am waiting for their reply to my request to do what I have stated above.

Yea, Cali is cool, but We also need a show out east somewhere, which is closer to my coast; Ny=>Fl. Amieast was in Baltimore Md a few years back. That time of year is towards the end of summer...too late for me to head cross country. Post pics, and streams!

Here, here for an east coast event. I toyed with the idea several times (in organizing one), but I realized I couldn't do it alone. Its very hard to get volunteer support for things like this and work and things also got in the way.

With that being said if a group of us want to get something going - I will certainly lend a helping hand.

I agree that there should be an AmiEast 2009 to counter AmiWest 2009 and hope that some of you can work with others from the other Amiga websites/forums to make it happen.

What I can't believe, or understand, is that no one (unless I just missed it), not a single MorphOS user on this site has spoken up and said they would be going to AmiWest 2009. Are all the MorphOS users on the Eastern half of the USA/Canada and over in Europe, the UK (which some dispute as being part of Europe for some stupid reason) and countries further Eastward?

The only two MorphOS users that I know of, who live on the West coast are Acill and Magnetic, and I have not been able to talk either of them into going, or have not gotten any reply from them.

Does that mean that there are only three MorphOS users in the Western half of the USA? This community is smaller than even I thought it was.

I am a brand new user that would love to go, but I don't reside on EITHER coast so East or West would be a hike for me... Wisconsin probably isn't a real hot spot to have a conference...

I would consider taking the train if there were one that ran from Riverside, or San Bernardino up to Sacramento, but not this time, as I am bringing lots of Amiga gear to sell at the show, plus my Efika to show MorphOS2.2 and hopefully my G4 PPC MacMini will have version 3.0 of MorphOS to run by then. Plus I will have two passengers again, like last year, or maybe even a third passenger this year. At least we will have fun during the drive up as I now have a car that has a rear seat entertainment system with a roof mounted flip down LCD screen to watch movie DVDs, or hook up a Minimig to and play Amiga games on. It is great to have both a composite input RCA jack plus stereo right and left speaker RCA jacks as well as a 150watt 110volt outlet in the rear of the center console right under the flip down LCD screen. There is also a remote control and a pair of wireless stereo headphones and the radio holds up to 6 DVDs and the front seat passengers can listen to any AM, or FM radio station on the 7 speakers w/external amplified sub-woofer at the same time the radio is playing a DVD movie for the rear seat LCD screen and sending the audio to the wireless stereo headphones, or a CD with mp3 files, or regular audio CDs, so everyone can enjoy their own kind of entertainment at the same time while driving down the road. As much as I like to drive and dislike being a passenger, I will probably give up the wheel and allow someone else to drive some of the time just so I can enjoy playing an Amiga game or two on the Minimig in the rear seat on our way up to AmiWest 2009. I could even use the S-Video output of my Radeon 9250 and an S-Video to Composite adapter to display my Efika and MorphOS on the rear seat LCD screen too, though I am not sure the S-Video output is supported under MorphOS2.2. I will have to give it a try before the trip and see how it works.
