You could just pull the cover, heck I'd consider using an extension cable and using double side foam tape to stick it on the top, but no you want it to fit inside.

Edit: One suggestion I saw online that might intimidate some of you, but makes sense to me...
Pull the SSD's board out of its case (which does void the warranty) and plug it into the adapter.
You should gain enough room without the case.
Considering the price and capacity differential, it seem worth the risk to me.
OR, you could consider a 1.8 mSATA drive, SSD or a standard mechanical hard drive. I have seen mSATA to PATA adapters in the $13 range.
