I've used that display before - worked great, although you will have issues with the resolutions you've mentioned, as far as I remember.

Another issue is its relative hunger for watts.

Unit is N/A under Network unit statistics. Changing from DHCP to static and vice versa doesn't help. The interface is ppc4xx_eth.device:0, version 50.7 from 24.12.2020

Try either copying the eth device or netconfig.library from 3.18 and report back. Would help to know which one it is.
