Pega-1 said sam460 support is unrelated to 3.2 work and still in early stage. Hence I doubt it'll be part of 3.2.

I'm sure not many (if any) existing MorphOS users will buy SAM460 but on the other side, there is some group of people owning SAM460 and using AmigaOS4.1 so they will have a chance to have a look how proper AmigaNG system looks like :)

I am interested in RoHS compliant hardware. Not for my private use, but maybe for my company. Non RoHS hardware is not usable for commercial products.

You're probably right. Adding support for Sam460ex shouldn't be too easy, especially considering on-board components like the outlandish SM502.

Geit said that the work of porting MorphOS to Sam460ex had started in late 2011.

    > who's interested in the SAM460?

I don't know. But it seems the MorphOS Team thinks there may be enough interest, considering that ACube allegedly doesn't pay for the porting.

I assume especially Sam460ex/AmigaOne 500 users might be interested.

    Thanks tmhgm,
That was kind of my point.
Sure a few OS4 users that own SAMs already may try Morph
But consider their fanaticism, we may see some negative reviews.

I do see the need for RoHS compliant hardware though.

Add to them future Sam460ex owners who will buy the hardware for running OS4 and will stumble upon MorphOS only at a later point in time, and add also users who want to install both OS4 and MorphOS on a single machine but haven't been lucky enough to find a Pegasos II for sale.

"From Friday 22th till Sunday the 24th of March 2013 the Amiga Club Osnabrück and the Amiga Club Steinfurt are celebrating another hardware meeting. So if you're interested in MorphOS you're welcome. Beside Pegasos systems we expect also Mac mini, PowerMac, iBooks, PowerMac G5, iMac G5 and of course Efikas."

I'm Interested in Sam460ex... although I will probably get an Apple product because of price.
but as I've been an apple hater since the 4th grade (lol) I would like to have other hardware options for Morphos if and when my PegII ever dies.

You might need to enable the fn key option in Settings>System>Laptop>Settings, but it does control backlit keyboard brightness.

I haven't looked at that setting yet but I did just adjust the keyboard and screen brightness with those function keys alone.

A feature that really would be nice, is automatic UAE in a transparant way, like AROS does. If you run Eagleplayer, it starts UAE in the background, UAE runs Eagleplayer and shows the app on the screen (not the complete workbench). This way, running dirty hardware banging Amiga apps, will be a no hassle job on Morphos.
