    - to buy a powerbook, or because they have a powerbook waiting.
    - because there's nothing exciting since ages on morphos
    - because there's nothing much to expect either.
    - because an iPad is more fun than a powermac in 2011
    - because interest is fading (eg : not much comments on the release of castle wolfenstein who was released way too late, not much news posted here, not much things on the FB group either etc)
    - because they are secretely buying an OS4 machine, OS4 sucks but seems more alive.

Castle Wolfenstein is playable since 2002 on any Pentium 2 / MacOS PPC ... now is that reason interest is (possibly) fading ?

I'm not interested in MorphOS because someone every now and then ports a "recent" game to it.

More and more people seem to think that. I'm really curious.

I have connected my Mac mini on TV. So I can watch TV or play a Game. I think MorphOS is a very interessting OS: But there are not enough good Software for the OS. I need a good graphics program, a html editor. So, I work on my Apple iMac

    Hello,

I own my pegasos 2 g4 since april 2004 and during all this time it works without any problem. So please tell me/explain me why should/would I sell it ? I had a old pc in 2005/2006 on which I have discovered ubuntu linux before trying it on my pegasos 2. Once a guy gave me m$ windows 98 that I installed on this pc and I sold it to a cash converter. In the contrary of many other people here I do not own an other computer, mac powerpc or x86 compatible. Using mac os x on a real mac computer, I do this via molk and os x tiger bugs, it is slow and randomly it has kernel panics. Using a pc under m$ windows ? No thank you, that is absoluty out of order for me ! I do not want to encounter problems with fuckwares and shitwares of all kind on this os. So I will stay with my pegasos 2 as long as it will continue to work fine.

You could give some reliable hardware with a comparatively reasonable price-performance ratio to the OS4 crowd ;-)

I think MorphOS users in general don't live out the Amiga-like 'hardware cult'. For me, it doesn't matter if I run MorphOS on a Pegasos2 or a Powermac G4.

Yes, as could already be seen by the fact that the Pegasos is Amiga-like neither in technology nor in name. But then, the same applies to ACube's Sam range of boards. So the people who run OS4 on Peg2 or Sam4x0 (or Micro-A1 for that matter) seem to adhere as much to the "Amiga-like 'hardware cult'" as the people running MorphOS on a Mac, Pegasos or Efika.

I prefer my G4 Mac over any Pegasos as it's faster in every aspect :-)

Forgive me for getting off-topic, but, while I'm not without a MorphOS computer due to selling it, I am MorphOS-less due to a hardware failure. I am one of those who is hoping 2.8 will support powerbooks and that it will be released soon. If the release isn't that soon I may resort to getting a macmini or just continue to take a break from all of this.

I understand the MorphOS developer rationale for their reluctance to pre-announce new releases but perhaps it would be acceptable for one / some of them to briefly discuss what bugs and features are currently receiving the most development attention. Also, is anyone of the opinion that the updated SDK signifies anything in relation to the next release of MorphOS?
PPC assembly ain't so bad... ;)

Well, I still have the QuickSilver PPC.
I tried MorphOS. Maxed it out. Bought all kinds of stuff for it.
If you want me to stay interested I think I need a G5.
Look, I use Windows all the time, but only for games. For a lot of us computers are just for games anymore and that can be done only on Windows machines (pretty much). Back when home computers first came out they were actually fun and not complex. Anone could write a basic program. We tried all kinds of stuff like scientific and math formulas. Educators and science people loved them. Now you need a degree just to program one. No fun anymore. All of the fun is gone and replaced by being one of the herd, internet surfing, emailing, and gaming. I miss the old days.

I seriously doubt that G5 support in MorphOS would change anything in that regard.

Eh? That's hardly true. If you want to be a programmer, most things you'll have to learn by yourself.

So stop whining and get the MorphOS SDK :)

Does that refer to PowerBook support or to MorphOS 2.8 or to both? :-)

G5 support will allow dual-core and quad-core machines which I would like.

But I think my point that some of us are just plain bored with the computer hobby in general, regardless of OS and hardware is true.
May go back to emulating 8 bit for a while just so I can enjoy myself for a bit.

Not selling my machine but I am finding I usea computer less and less outside of work. Not switch my ppc miggy on in years. Now awitched my Mac Mini on in months, same with laptop. Not used my desktop x64 in months and months and months.

I basically only bother with my xbox and 3ds now. Im having a break from computers outside of work as pretty fed up
