Is there any fix available for the Mac models that have very low audio level when running MorphOS2.5?

Any other 'problems' with this MorphOS2.6 of which you speak?

    8-)

Also is mixer in your WBStartup folder? Are all the setting right on that?

Maybe it has something to do with that:

"the latest message from the MorphOS Team member also stated that MorphOS2.6 will be shown at the AmiWest 2010 Show (that may mean that it will be released before that date, or it may mean that it will only be demonstrated, but I believe that it means that it will be available to everyone by that date)."

So maybe he already got the PowerMac G4 dev version? Just guessing.

I agree, this is highly probable. But then, shouldn't betatesters report bugs somewhere else and not in a public forum? But after all, what do I know, I'm not one of them...
Anyway, I never experience such a behaviour on my mini as well, so cannot help.

    Kind regards,
    Andrea

You mean "Sound fix for volume level on MacMini, eMac, & eMac?"

Sorry, I think I've broken this beautiful thread :-/

Guruman: one of eMac users reported the same problem on polish site ppa.pl that's why i think he ment eMac. I've never seen any problem as Amigadave reported on my mac mini.

There *is* already "eMac" in the thread title. We're speculating about the "PowerMac" part of it. See stephen_robinson's posting.

    Seems I was spot-on:

"...the beta version of 2.6, which I already have installed on my Dual 1.25GHz G4 PowerMac."

Same here on Powermac MDD 2003 1,25 GHz and MDD 867MHz DP. I also recognized that sound came at the same time from both ports, front speaker and line out. I booted back to Leopard, took out the cable for line out and maxed the volume for the front speaker. after reboot to mos i think the sound was half of original mac sound in volume. before i could hear only whispering sound with max volume in mos2.6. perhaps it was just a feeling. ill make some more tests tomorrow. my sound at mac mini works fine. no problems at all!

Exactly the same problem here, on my MDD.
I add a SoundBlaster to fix it.

    Tiki:

Which soundblaster did you add? Did you have to modify its firmware to get it to work with MAC?

Anyway I hope MOS devs can tell us what the problem is with audio, hopefully they can fix it without having to buy any more PCI cards.

It's a classic SoundBlaster Live ! as you can find in every PeeCee shop. Previously, she was in my PC under linux. And, you can find the same card in my Peg.
I don't have to modify the firmware to get it work. I think you need to modify firmware only on Graphic and if exist, on controler card.

PS : Whooo I post two times the same day on MorphZone

Ok I did this, but volume is still very very low:

    1. Reinstalled OSX
    2. Put volume to the maximum
    3. Installed Morphos

    Volume stays low :(

Maybye I forgot to say that I didn't use the Apple sound card anymore. Only the SoundBlaster
Don't forget to select emu10k1 in unit 0

AFAIK SoundBlaster cards don't have a firmware you could modify.

Very low sound output here too with a 1GZ PowerMac MDD using the classic SoundBlaster Live. Obviously there's a problem with the sound driver.

@JuLieN : as tu choisi ta SoundBlaster Live ! en unit 0 dans les prefs audio ? Ca fonctionne parfaitement chez moi comme ca.

Did you select your SoundBlaster Live! in unit0?

    @Tiki
I'm not really sure, as the driver's name is "AppleI2S", is there another one that would fit the Powerbook better?
