    How to print an Html page from OTB?.
    HP Deskjet 6988 connected USB.
    Mac OS X prints fine but I am at a loss to link to this printer in MorphOS.
    Its been a while and I have forgotten how?
    There is a dated tutorial but I think things have changed since.
    :-) The printing system adopted by MorphOS is TurboPrint, a licensed commercial software package also distributed in the Linux world. It allows full control of the printer and its colours (if any), and of course runs transparently for any application. TurboPrint requires an update if the user needs printer drivers for recent printers, but the upgrading package is also convenient for the presence of some useful printing utilities that are absent in MorphOS.

    Went to shell > USBDevLister
    The result shows the printer connected to USB HP 6980series
    Went to Driver tool folder...not there?

    My printer is among in the Turboprint folder
    It lists the driver as "turboprint 4.0"

    Worth A Read?

    @Zukow,
    "i would save page in pdf and print via ghostscript"

    Thank-you for the door..The latest ghostscript is #8.70 in October 2009?.
    I will be doing many projects involving PDF files and using Arexx to parse them so it will be needed ...Like many MorphOS applicatons the installation is a challenge..
    Again ty my post had many views but you were the only one to respond :)

    There are many users like myself that have not yet attempted printing from MorphOS on our G4 MacMini's and would view this thread looking for directions on how to set up printing from MorphOS through the G4 MacMini's USB port. That may explain the many views and only one answer so far.

    printing is always an issue here, (I had a thread on this way back)
    I have two HP's that I guess I could now try. It is just not straight forward enough for people like me who may be (not of a programmer's mind set) to follow installation procedures of Turbo Print and GS or obtaining PS printers for printing purposes. I was used to parallel cables, dev drivers, and go. In windows, plug in install and go. here everything is a bit more tedious

    Anyway..keep asking questions as you need to Osco. :-)

    I've got an hp842c/hp710c both desktops recognized, now what's the next step. I already went to settings pref and added with new.

    I have noticed that you must press enter after you have typed usbparallel.device or else it won't be saved.

    So don't forget to press enter, boys :-)

    I don't know how to print from owb screen I also tried and nothing happened. I also tried save as pdf, but that doesn't print either, it just wants to save. Hope someone can shed some light on this. Anyway, I got my printer working, and I had final writer, so I was able to test that way. If you don't have a Word Processor program, open any text or readme with multiview, and use print option. this should work.

    I tried printing icon from google docs, it immediately wants to save as pdf to ram: I think this is a config somewhere that could be adjusted. Again hope someone can shed some light.one more thing I didn't see your model printer driver inMossys/TP/printers

    Hi, you must use save to pdf in owb, after that you must open the pdf and choose print from the menu, be sure it says PS: in the window that appear, after that press save and the printouts will start. (if the printer is configured correctly)

    There is a way to printout from OWB:
    1: Resize the OWB-window so that the area you want to print fits propper into the window.
    2. Save it as pdf. There are two possibilties now choose a filename:
    a) Save it to PS: - that means that you save it to the Postscript-Port of TP. The data will be converted (via Ghostscript - will take some time) to bitmap-data and printed normaly via TP...
    b) Save it with a propper name to RAM DISK: and open it again with APDF. There you can rotate the pages so that it fits better to A4-printing-paper. Now print (or save) it also to PS:

    If you have a real postcript-printer you can print it out directly to the printer. You only have to create and mount a logical printerdevice like this (mountlist):

    StackSize = 4096
    Priority = 5
    GlobVec = -1
    Handler = MOSSYS:L/port-handler
    Startup = "DEVICE=netprinter.device UNIT=0 TYPE=printer"
    #

    Name this mounlist e.g. PRTN and store it in DEVS:Dosdrivers. after a reboot you will find the device PRTN: . Print all postcript-data (e.g. from Pagestream, FinalWriter, etc) directly to this device.

    This mountlist is for a Laser-Netprinter - I used here the netprinter.device from Guido Mersmann....but it should also work with parallel.device or usbprinter.device....etc...
    Netprinter.device and APDF can be found in Aminet....
