    The GFX-card should work, but unless you break into Franks's house and steal a bunch of HDs,CDRs,USB-sticks..., fat chance of getting that iMac to run MorphOS :-P

    Atm there is only a bounty for some PowerMac G5s which will be supported by some upcoming release, everything else might or might not happen in some distant time.

    Frank clearly said that there won't be any iMac support for upcomming MorphOS release.

    True. And for those who want to read it from the horse's mouth:

    3.3 will (probably) be a bugfix version much like 3.1 (and I guess that would be a rule for every odd number, as stated... umm... Andreas, help me with this one :) )

    At your command :-)

    Would this be a good place to pointlessly and irritating ask about a status update of the G5 powermac version?

    Recently there was one written by myself, actually you've linked it from MorphOS.pl.

    Another great news is working internal sound support for G5 (i'm gonna get slaped for saying that ;)

    Work is progressing :)

    What's now remaining to do for the G5 is to add sound support.

    :-o

    Exciting news, If you ignore the bit after the bit I just quoted anyway,

    Frank may have clearly stated it in those quotes, but...

    To be honest, I could barely tell the difference when I replaced the orginal spinny hard disk drive with a SSD on my Powerbook.

    At least with MorphOS, it booted OSX about twice as fast.

    I understand, but consider that in a unique step I'll jump from:

    - G4@1,42GHz to G5@2,5GHz
    - Radeon 9000Pro to 9800XT (there is a huuuge difference in performance)
    - conventional HD on IDE bus to SSD on SATA bus

    I think that all these improvements all toghter will be sensible..

    Are you quite sure about it? :)

    PowerBook = IDE
    G5 = SATA

    It works really really faster especially with SSD drive.

    My 2.3Ghz G5 runs about half as loud as my MDD at 1083Mhz. It's about the same noise as my Peg II actually so not bad. These things are huge and built to last. I almost got crushed pulling my G5 out of the shipping box. It's like something out of Shadow of the Colossus. ;)
