I have a simple question, if is it possible to use Radeon 9600-9800 AGP from G5 in PM G4?
I consider buying such a card and I would like to know which one is suitable for Morphos. I know R300 has only 2D drivers but is faster and offers more memory.

Are you sure it's not an AGP Pro card? Really hard to say if it's going to work when you don't mention the exact G5 and card model. A photo of the card could help too.

I've seen a 9600s modified to work. ADC connectors (if present) won't work.
Some Apple 9800s work in both G4s and G5s, others only in G5s.

Its much easier to re-flash a PC 9800.

Jim is using a 9800XT in his G4 PowerMac, so he is the guy you should listen to regarding which one to buy for your MorphOS G4 PowerMac use.

Well I'm no expert, but I am running a PC XT with an original Apple BIOS to maximise the speed.
If you want DVI output, you need to flash a 9800XT with a 9800Pro BIOS file (runs slower, but both VGA and DVI outputs work).
I have to us the VGA output of my card.
And I don't know about original Apple 9600s, but I avoid re-flashed PC 9600s as their video output frequently is sub-par.

    zbysiuk,

Which G4? I found out the hard way that the Quicksilver 2002 has some specific issues with specific cards.

I try to find something for my PM G4 1.42 DP (FW 800). According to the hardware compatibility list, ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, 9600XT and 9800 ought to work properly but I guess are plenty of exceptions, that is why I want to determine which one is good, so is it some general rule to find the proper one?

As I said to you recently just ask seller for a picture of working card in machine you are interested in, don't believe that cards are tested.
