I am wanting to register my MDD pretty soon since I finally decided which of my 3 MDDs I want registered. I am greatful for all the efforts and time that is put onto MorphOS, but I was wondering how long is a registration good for? I am just trying to avoid having to buy one now, and the next 3.2 update having everyone to reregister or something like that. I don't mind repaying again don't get me wrong, but one month paying a registration, then about a year later having to repay that amount might be too soon.

Either way, just was curious if there is anything like that where you pay for the next MorphOS.

Nobody knows. But all upgrades since 2.0 version (30 Jun 2008) were free.

IIRC it was communicated (back at the 2.0 times) that all updates within 2.x branch (i.e. "minor" updates) would be free of charge. Then came the "major" version bump to 3.0, and it was decided that this upgrade would be free as well. We are at 3.1 now, and with the history in mind, I would be very surprised if 3.2 would require a new registration. I would think it's safe to assume that at least all upgrades within 3.x (nobody knows how many that will be) will be free of charge.

Will do :) Wish I had enough money to register the other two MDDs, but really the FW800 I have will do great.

We currently have no plans to charge a fee again for any of the forthcoming MorphOS3 updates from users who already registered their machines and paid for its registration key.
It doesn't make any sense IMHO to split the relatively small user community by charging for system updates and getting users who updated and others who are left behind because they don't want to ....

Thanks for clarifying on the fees. I know $100 isnt a whole lot these days, especially the amount of time that gets put into the OS itself. Thanks again!

And BTw if your mdd one day Will break don't worry you could esily transfer your registraton with no more charge. I Made this few days ago without problems and with 0 money charge thanx to morphos team!so register, you'll never regret!
