If you are also a member at AmigaWorld.net and feel that I would make a good moderator there, there is a current poll there to choose the next two moderators. I was asked to participate and agreed to do so, if elected.

The most interesting thoughts about this topic in general that keep echo in my mind (and no - neither @Dave nor anyone else is meant as a target. I just love this quote cause it's so true in my experience):

    Quote:

“The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.
To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it.
To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.”

    Sure Dave,
I think you have all all the tools and attributes of a good moderator, good communication and the desire not to rule but to include. Good luck and you will always be rewarded with more than you give.

I am one of the few who still believes in "Public Service" as being something worthwhile to attempt to do, but not easy to accomplish.

I also believe that all government officials need to be reminded that they are "Public Servants" and should be held accountable to the public, by the public. Shorter term limits and elimination of lifetime benefits for certain government officials would be a good start.

I would but don't go anywhere near that site. If the option ever comes up on Amiga.org I will gladly vote for you.

I know that most of you are not interested in this news, but I wanted to offer a quick thank you.

Thanks to all of you here who voted for me on the AW.net moderator poll. I have been notified that I am one of the two new moderators for that site.

Now I get a chance to make more enemies. ;-)

Actually, I will do my best to be impartial and fair to everyone, but I will be trying to cut down on the fighting and unnecessary baiting that happens too often.

No problem, thought you'd be perfect...

Your very objective and have given lots to the MOS community.

When 3.0 comes out, should see a decent amount of new users, I know you want to see the MOS community grow.

    congrats...

Looks like you were one of the top two, so I guess you've got the job.
    Congratulations David.
Hopefully, you can be a moderate moderator.

I've voted for Dave as well. Imho he is the best one for that job, ChrisH looks like too much os4 only related.

    @pampers,

ChrisH has done quite a bit of work to make his PortablE work on both OS4.x and MorphOS (and I think AROS too), but I agree that his personal preference appears to be OS4.x. Nothing wrong with that preference. I prefer MorphOS, but it won't affect the way I moderate on AW.net, just as I am sure ChrisH will make sure his preference does not affect the way he performs his moderation duties. There are many moderators, so no one moderator is going to change the site anyway and the site admins won't let a moderator continue to moderate if they appear to doing so with an agenda.
