    So I put my Mini on Craigslist and if it sells (with OSX Leopard installed)..can I sell just my key? I doubt anyone will buy my Mini with MorphOS so the hd in there has just a vanilla Leopard install.

    Without the hardware your key is useless, so selling it to some morphos user is the best solution, as he would count the MorphOS licence into the hardware price and you would get more money compared to selling it to someone without any interest in MorphOS.

    Even if the MacUser is suddenly interested in MorphOS, he will get the key for free during registration process, as his hardware is already registered.

    ok..

    then what if I sell the hardware and keep the key for myself? Is it transferrable to a Mac laptop?

    No, its bond to the mini and cannot be transfered unless you can prove your mini is broken.

    The owner of the hardware is the only person who can use that keyfile.

    Easy solution for selling: Don't put your Mac Mini under "Macintosh" at (for example) ebay, but under "Amiga". The chance is 98% higher that somebody who is interested in Morphos will buy it and you will get more money than just the worth of the hardware.

    You really ought to try Ebay.
    The listings reach a much larger audience.

    I've sold hundreds of items there and I usually get a good return.

    Why do not follow the simplest solution? Sell it here to a MorphOS user and add the price of the key to your selling price. A lot of people already did this.

    PegasosII "Elite" Machine --> PowerMac MDD "popular" Machine --> MacMini 1.5 "still more popular" Machine

    @Miky060,

    I guess you haven't noticed his threads here where he has been trying to sell it already and the discussion about most people being afraid to buy a Mini with only 32mb VRAM.

    Winner winner chicken dinner. I'd love to sell it because once 3.0 is out I'll have it on a laptop and the Mini won't be used anymore.

    Cheapest option is to gather some witnesses and a video camera and destroy the mini, and then send the video and witness signatures to the higher council of church of the MorphOS holiest. They will then suddenly in a very cunning way be able to transfer your key to your new Apple hardware.

    I don't know why we go this way again ... it's not that this isn't discussed a 100 times before. Sell the thign with MorhpOS license to someone who want's to use it for that. It isn't an impossible quest.

    I got rid of my registered Efika for a very decent price when Macmini support came. And an Efika is a lot worse compared to Macmini with 32Mb VRAM

    Maybe an other alternative is that you stick a price on it, Amigadave looks out for a worthy developer and we start a bounty for it.

    Giving the man who is doing the PPCjit a MorphOS machine would maybe a good thing. I don't know if he would even want one but we and he would certainly benefit from it and undoubtly that bounty would go up considerably. Anyway just to give an example.

    Have you thought of Amibay?

    They are targetted at Amiga community (mainly) and don't charge an extortionate percentage.

    @Kolla

    That approach (transfer of license) is open in exceptional circumstances only. I strongly suspect that if a thousand users decided to destroy their mac-minis/powermacs, and expected to transfer the license to Powerbooks, the MorphOS team would tell them to f*ck off (or more accurately would agree to only transfer the license to similar hardware). And rightly so imho.

    I also suspect that even a 32MB mac-mini would fetch more than €111.11.

    Regards

    Rich

    The idea of giving it to a new MorphOS developer with a request for supporters to pay you a certain amount in donations, is maybe the best alternative, if you can't get the price you want for it through just a normal sale to another user.

    I am tapped out right now, and for the next couple of months, but would be happy to help you get your Mini to a new MorphOS developer with a donation in May or June.

    I just had some costly problems arise and also have the balance of the purchase price for my First Contact AmigaOne X1000 to pay within the next few weeks, so I can't help you out right now.

    @amigadave:

    if it doesnt sell I'm ok with it. I would just hate to sell it to a non-MorphOS user. A local guy will give me $150 for it with OSX installed and doesnt care to use MorphOS.
