Java can't have an update because it wasn't even announced.

Better don't hold your breath on Java. It won't come from me in any case. :)

For Flash, i'll probably release a first version when i have implemented sound. Though i wonder if it's worth releasing it, considering the speed and people expectations.

I've seen the beta working and i have to say - it is worth of releasing it. Some pages using flash are quite usable.

agree. the beta is quite usable, and far better than anything else before on amiga/morphos. its perfect for stupid sites which use flash for menus and silly stuff like that. even for some games and googlevideo, but i prefer getvideo way and i usually dont play flash games. (and it pisses me that most games use flash crap while they can be made with javascript, like the lemmings js remake....)
i think its a good time to release it a short time after mini version:)

I think lack of speed shouldn't hold you back in releasing a beta. I it is printed boldly on the release that the speed is low most ppl should notice it. Nevertheless there will of course some ppl complaining about this 'crappy speed', but there are always ppl complaining. I think the most valid reasion for holding back a release would be a strong instability. But as long as it is fairly stable I think it is okay to let it go.

And regarding Java, there seems to be some momentum again in the JAmiga project. While it is generally good to expect the least and keep teh hype low, there seems to be some progress at least according to http://www.pegasosforum.de/viewtopic.php?p=42318&sid=95b988f87c56b128df718d2d01c03b35#42318

Well, at least your excellent porting of WebKit including JavaScript to MorphOS could give us Java some day:
