Here we go: new year, new thread about your expectations of the year to come.
I'll start with my expectation about the Powerbook port. That one will be highly appreciated by me.
I think the G5 things will take its time and with the current list of supported hardware, there is no need to hurry too much, maybe it will be ready in late 2011, but probably not very soon.
And I rather don't count on *new* hardware for 2011, but happily noticed that ppc ain't dead and in late 2011 new promising chips will appear, that - with some luck - may yield to something in 2012.
On the software side I am quite happy with the current situation. I hope that Fab continues his outstanding work on OWB and MPlayer. I'd be glad if a hardware accelerated Cairo would come. I further hope Yomgui continues his work on Helios, Python and Blender as well as all the other active developers continue their work. I am looking quite forwar about the Lua-Port. I hope, I will improve my programming skills and finally create somethig useful.
My biggest hope for the coming year is that some fresh blood will join the party and I think chances are good that we will see an increasing user base.
All in all I think 2011 will be a year of continued developement and further maturity, but probably w/o the big surprises. Hopefully with more happy users and a vivid community.

A happy 2011 to the community!

I'll take it as it comes. Except for a 3D driver for the Radeon 9700, I'm content.

Wishing for 3D drivers with shader support is probably rather unrealitic, but I guess VBO support should be relatively easy to do, and would add huge boost to all programs that (can be easily modified to) support it.

I'm sure I'll bring a certain MacOS machine back home.
Was: Mac Mini PPC running MorphOS 2.4
Now: Amiga Forever 2010 with AmiKit and AmigaSYS
Not used: Icaros Desktop 1.2 (reason: no wifi)
    Planned soon: an OS4 system
Shortly then: a MOS notebook (wifi is a must-have)

I only started using MorphOS in 2010, so I'm happy to see more of the same for the time being!

I'm wondering what the hardware roadmap will be once the PPC Macs have been done, though.

    +1

As that will hopefully lead to more software to run on MorphOS.

you understand me ;-) ... all other wishes will be the inevitable result of that wish.

More "average joe" that plays with MorphOS like people once played with the Commodore Amiga will onyl result in more development...
