    Hi,

I have a little problem only in screens 1920x1080 and 1680x1050: I see sometimes the screen black for a while (1 or 2 second) moving the windows.

I had the same problem in Amiga OS4.1 (with my Pegasos2) and I have solved via tooltypes editing in "1920x1080@60+RB" "1680x1050@60+RB"; so in MorphOS 2.4 what do I need to do to solve the same problem ?.

    (details:
    Pegasos2 G4@1000, AGP ATI 9250 256, monitor lcd Samsung 24" SyncMaster 2494HS, MorphOS 2.4.)

    Thanks a lot.
    Regards

Same here at 1680x1050 on Mac mini with Philips 220XW. Luckily it occurs very rarely, so not really disturbing.

I don't know if it's the same problem, but with couple of cheap (BenQ) monitors I get short blackouts occasionally with MorphOS. It's so rare that it doesn't bother me. But when I connected Mac mini on them with OSX, the problem was way worse. It happened constantly and first I thought it was related to some movement or load, but at the end it seemed to be random. Then I installed SwitchResX program, which makes possible to tune resolutions under OSX, and it helped.. no black srceens after that.

With some other monitors it never happens... so, I guess it's because some monitors are more picky about the frequencies they get and fine tuning the settings may help. So.. don't give up on hope with some resolutions until you try to check and/or tune its frequencies with Monitors settings in MorphOS for example.

Hi i also had this problem earlier, and also some graphics miscolour.
I run my mini @46" LCD Full HD :)
Here are the link to my settings http://home.swipnet.se/~w-160129/Monitor/
To solve the black problem i had to change the horizontal synchronizing in the editor for the monitor specification from 2.4000 (Original1.png) to 1.7000 (Changes1.png).

To solve the miscolour please see Original2.png and Changes2.png and i also had to lower the vertical frequence from 56 to 40 see Original1.png and Changes2.png

I also provide you with my monitor files before and after change.

@MorphOS Team, this isn't reported becase i can't submit pictures in the bugreport, so please look into this:) thanks.

    (kHz)
    VESA, 640 x 480 31.469 59.940 25.175 -/-
    VESA, 800 x 600 35.156 56.250 36.000 +/+
    VESA, 800 x 600 37.879 60.317 40.000 +/+

    VESA,1920 x 1080 66.587 59.934 138.500 +/-

So, please, how do I need to setup :
    Sync lenght H and V
    Pulse Offset H and V
    Pulse Lenght H and V

to have the right Pixel Clock 138.500 and the right Horizontal and Vertical 66.587 and 59.934 frequency ?

What horizontal synchronization value "Min Time" do you have?
And what values did you trie?
You must "Save" from monitor specification and "Save" from MorphOS Preferences to see this kind of change.

1.7000 worked for me, but you should try different values that suit you.
I decreased the value in steps of 0.1 until it worked:)
If you are unlucky you can always play with the other numbers, maybe you will find something:)

    Hi,
I have tried from 2.4000 to 0.1000 ... alway with the same problem :(

Is there a variable like to +RB (in AmigaOS4.1) to solve this problem ?.
    I think It's a very simple problem.

    :(

    thanks

Play around with the other settings in monitor specification, i dont know if this can destroy your monitor but perhaps its new so you can claim it was broken if something happens :)

Does it happen when you boot directly from a CD?
    1 + 1 = 3 with very large values of 1

I have verify with bootstrap from cdrom of MorphOS 2.4 (the default screenmode is 1920x1080) and I have the same problem :
    1) the sreen sometime become black for about 1 or 2 seconds.
    2) if I see (for exemple) the image of "Welcome in MorphOS" after the boot from cdrom, I see some graphic error, some little flash error in the image (same problem for exeple using Quake 3 in a window in MOS).

Note, as said before... that There are NOT these problems in 1280x1024 or less.
Note also I have there problems only in MorphOS 2.4 (not in Linux, not in OS4.1 where solved with +RB variable).

Tell me if you need other informations to solve the problem.

    thanks for the support.
    Best regards

I have solved this problem changing the monitor :-)
I used Samsung 23,5", now I use Asus 24" ad It's ALL OK PERFECT with Pegasos2 (connected in DVI mode) and with PowerMac FW800 (connected in HDMI mode via DVI-->HDMI adaptor)
