    Hi All,

I finally purchased a mac mini ($220 AUD posted). I have installed Morphos and would like to know some what are common things to install straight away for improving the experience.

I read something about ultimate pack?
IceFS seems like a great idea (after i remove the 40GB hd)

The main things i would like to do are
    1) Classic amiga emulation - Do i use some UAE or is there Chipset emulation built into Morphos?
    2) Development (target Aros too) what IDE is best? something Free / Open source would be best please
    3) Web browsing. I assume i install the latest OWB?

I would like to make sure whats out there before i do the final MorphOs purchase.

    Thanks !

While there is no automatic "MorphOS Update" service, you can visit MorphOS Files. It has RSS channel, which you can subscribe (the channel is also retransmitted on Twitter).

MorphOS itself gets updated by new releases. The new release is distributed as an ISO at http://www.morphos-team.net/ download section.

For example there's a MorphOS 2.6 release in horizon. While it adds new hardware support it also includes ton of bug fixes and some new features, too. To upgrade your existing installation you burn the ISO on a CD, boot it and start the installer, it will present an upgrade option.

    2) The official SDK can be downloaded from http://morphos-team.net. If you want to target other platforms, CubicIDE might be the way to go.

You can download Ultimate Pack here:

    http://www.meta-morphos.org/download/Pack/installpack.lha

It has quite a lot of interesting apps...

If you want emulated Excel reader capacity, get Basilisk II MacOS Classic emulation, install MacOS 7.5 (you will need roms though). Then google for IcXL/IcExcel from Panergy Software and get back here as I own the unlock code, given by a company employee exclusively for the MorphOS community (discontinued MacOS7/8 binary).

The whole process isn't trivial with Basilisk so take your time and try suggested stuff first.
Was: Mac Mini PPC running MorphOS 2.4
Now: Amiga Forever 2010 with AmiKit and AmigaSYS
Not used: Icaros Desktop 1.2 (reason: no wifi)
    Planned soon: an OS4 system
Shortly then: a MOS notebook (wifi is a must-have)
