I have a Mac Mini with MOS2.5, and I get this error message quite often. Just after a reboot, and I open a few drawers, then the system freeze while scanning location. And a log server window pops up, with the following line:
Workbench [MOSSYS:Ambient/Ambient] - Unknown exeption

double clicking on the line, gives a little more info:
68k exeption in Task 0x22a90f58 <Workbench [MOSSYS:Ambient/Ambient]>

then in the stacktrace ppc tab there is some more info
first 4 lines with object - Abox:Module
then one line - MOSSYS:libs/trance.library
2 lines with object - Abox:Emulation
finally one line with object - MOSSYS:Ambient/Ambient

When this happens I can not cloase any open drawers, or open new ones. Mouse is still moving and the only action I can do is to navigate in the log server window.
But when trying to save the log results in a file save requestor, and then the log server freeze as well. Rebooting and everything is ok again.

Any idea what could be causing this would be welcome.

I was thinking that, but this was the best I could do. After this happen, I can not do so much I'm afraid, since most of the system is not working. As I say, I can not even save the output from the server log.
I will try again next time it happens, maybe I still an open a shell and get the log saved.

From time to time I have same error in Ambient (with Mos 2.4 and now also with 2.5). Most time this error jump on screen when I switch icon/list view with wheel button on mouse. (fast scroll up-down)
I will try to grab error log.

Hello, again.

I take some photos with my mobile phone, because Ambient freeze all tasks after this unknown exeption. During this error only Mos is started, nothing more. I hope this will help to trace this bug.
