@everyone: Wow, what interesting replies. Especially the stories. Those are what make this kind of thing so much fun.
@the topic
I guess I'll add my story to the list
For me, I just happened to be lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time when I discovered MorphOS personally. One of the beta-testers turned me onto MorphOS, and suggested that I contact Bill, Raquel, Nicolas, Ralph, and company. One thing led to another, and I became part of the "family."
Prior to this,, there was not a lot of information on our side of the pond about MorphOS. Thus, the only exposure I really had was through the developer of "Matrix Blanker," whom I was writing an installer for. Because of him, my eyes were opened to the possibility of MorphOS, but I still did not know too much about the project. Sure, there was the stuff that trickled onto Amiga.org, but it was usually watered down. In other words, prior to Bolton (That's the beta tester) telling me all about MorphOS and the Pegasos, I thought of it like I did about OS4--"A nice dream, maybe it will be real someday." I was soon to find out how real the MorphOS project was.
Bolton gave me enough push to make contact with Thendic/bPlan (at the time). When I did, it became a turning point... One day, I may tell the rest of the story
That, as they say, is that.
