    Hor are configeration files hooked to their application programs? Is it a generic/
    Always in S file /

    Configuration files are mainly stored in Sys:Prefs/Env-Archive. With the exception of system configuration files that are mainly loaded by the iprefs application (which also monitors them for any changes to make sure everything is uptodate), applications load their files from the runtime mirror of the config files stored in env: (usually ram:env). When you select 'Use' in app's settings, the env copy is updated, when you select 'Save' both env and env-archive copies are saved.
