Hi

I set up some actions under Ambient MIME settings.
Ambient opens an output window - how can I control the
size or default size of this window ?

The default size is full screen, which is a bit large for my tastes.

Ambient settings->CLI->output window

1. Open an output window.
2. Select Settings -> Edit Prefs... from the screenbar menu.
3. Set your preffered default window size.
4. Settings -> Save as Default from the screenbar menu.

I see, I managed to set it as Fab said. However, now there is no window. That's OK for what I want to do but I can imagine other situations where I would want it.

Editing the default settings for the shell doesn't work at all. The default shell window size is ignored even for opening new shells. I just saved position and size as default and I can see the new size I just saved. -> Probably icon tool type is overriding the defaults ?

I went into the same problem. It seems that Ambient preferences break something everytime when output window is changed there, i suggest to use MUICON prefs only. At first i thought that i did something wrong because it was ok with next attempt, but later i changed some values and the output window couldn't open again. Instead of window some weirdo name files like #%@# were created in the working directory. Then i tried to delete muicon and con prefs in env:sys/ env-archive:/sys, seems that it helps. Window works again. After little change in ambient output window settings i managed to broke this window again. So i set CON:////Ambient Output Window/CLOSE/AUTO/WAIT saved it and deleted muicon con settings again. It didn't work though this time. When i was complaining at #morphos i tried to open this window once again and it opened... I didn't change anything, matter of time, magic? This was one of my strangest experience with MorphOS/Ambient. I still don't know how exactly it breaks, but this was time and nerve consuming. I will try to found out what is wrong exactly some day, but using clean/CDboot system :).
