    Hello,

I looking to get into the Morphos/Amiga world. My question is which way should I turn? I think Morphos becuase their actual hard ware and software. What if Amiga does not go bankrupt and OS4 is out in the market wont the Morphos market disapear? Is their any good apps for the computer.

    in the following areas

    1. web browser
    2. newsread
    3. e-mail read
    4. mp3 play program
    5. office application

    give me feed back

Whoa, the Amiga camp and the MorphOS camp both have "benefits" going for them. However, one of the leads we enjoy on the MorphOS side *IS* applications. Instead of a full list, I'll answer the ones you mention (and that with NATIVE applicaitons only. Remember, most of your favorite 68k Amiga applications will also work).

    1. VoyagerPPC (Native) (Included)
    2. MicroDot (Native) YAM (Native)
    3. MicroDot (Native) (Available from Vapor)
    4. Kaya (Native)(Included)
    5. Papyrus (Native) (not finished, underway)

There are other ports underway to some level or another. Some are secret, some aren't. Just take a look at the PegasosPPC.com and MorphOS.net, and you'll see quite a few applications. :-)

The snowball has rolled so far there ain't stopping it for now. MorphOS won't go away after the release of AOS4.0, 4.1 or 4.2...

About Amiga Inc., I think you're looking at it from wrong side, I think the relevant question is "What if Amiga Inc. GOES bankcrupt", or rather "When does Amiga Inc. go bankcrupt".

There are lots of fruitfull threads about A1 vs Peg and OS4 vs MOS at www.amiga.org. I suggest you read some of them and make up your mind.

In the end it's hard to say, as we don't know how Pegasos2 performs and when it's available.

    Hi !

MorphOS users will not disappear when the OS4 will be available.

    1. There is Voyager (included), AWeb (free) and IBrowse
    2. News Caster. AWeb can do it too. But I never use it !
    3. YAM, I would advice SimpleMail which is not usable
    4. Kaya (included) but there is also SongPlayer :-D and AmiNetRAdio
    and others 68k players
    5. euh ... There are AmigaOS 68k software like
WordWorth. Titan Computer plan to release
    Papyrus
    MorphOS Rulez !

Now, can we have a list of the secret projects? ;-)

As to the future: the basic rule is that everything can happen. However, there are things that are pretty improbable.

MorphOS vanishing in thin air on the day of OS4 release is such an improbability.

Sure, there's -edited- and -edited- and don't forget the new -edited- called -edited-. And of course, coming out for the -edited- there is -edited- as well as -edited- -edited- and -edited-. And I've heard about -edited- being worked on by -edited- but that won't be out till -edited-.

Off the top of my head.
