    Hi!
I'm a girl from Sweden, and i'm a new MorphOS user. First of all I want to say that if I compare MorphOS and Windows I can't complain at anything. It's fast, it starts at no time and it has a goodlooking design. When I used my PC it was because I had to, but now it's fun working at the computer.

I have a question for you. Is there any way I can change font colour, for example I want to change font colour in Network Statistics?

Fonts are a bit messy. Some of them have to be configured in MUI Settings (every application should make them accessible from its menu) and some are fixed by the selected skin and can't be changed by means other than editing the SkinConfig file. But I guess you'll find what you need in MUI Settings.

Font-Colors can be set globally or per app, setting it only for a part of an app isn't possible.

So you could set a different color for the complete MorphOS-Preferences.

Open the System-Prefs, and click on the leftmost gadget in the top-right corner of the window.
    A menu should pop-up, select "MUI-Settings"

A new window appears, select "Windows" on the right side you will find a color-gadget.

To set for the whole system, select "MUI..." from the preferences-menu, select "Windows" ....

Out of curiosity Mandy, may I ask if you were ever an Amiga user in the past, or if you have come to using MorphOS from some other recommendation? Also, which kind of computer are you running MorphOS on and have you registered it and paid the license fee, or do you just use a demo copy and have to reboot every 30 minutes (if using v2.0 and higher)?

It is always a pleasure to welcome new users of MorphOS to these forums and doubly so for a girl. Female AmigaOS and MorphOS users are sort of rare.

So, welcome to MorphZone.org and don't be shy in asking any questions. There are lots of helpful MorphOS experts here (I am not one of them, but I still try to be helpful when I can).

    @ Dave et al,
I have not regestered Morphos as yet but the more I get that old feeling of not just being a USER but of a partner in the process, the more inclined to regester with a big smile :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Jacadcaps : why not adding a link in the fonts preferences of MorphOS : a link "Configure Ambient fonts" which open Ambient/Icons pref panel.

And the same idea can be transfered to shortkeys : adding two links in the IControl pref. The first to open MUI/Keyboard panel and the second to open the Ambient/keyboard panel.

    @amigadave

I have never used Amiga. My boyfriend have two mac minis with registered versions of MorphOS. I'm using one of them. It's a 1.5 GHz 1 Gb. Last weekend we installed alot of programs and he showed me how to use MorphOS.

Thank you very much, I will probably ask alot of questions in the future.

Well Mandy, if your boyfriend spent the money to register two copies of MorphOS2.4, he either knows enough about it to answer all your questions better than I do, or he is rich and has run out of other things to spend his money on.

I must assume that your boyfriend has used Amiga computers in the past, or has been following MorphOS from it's beginnings if he is not a former Amiga user.

Again, welcome to MorphZone and since you are NOT a former Amiga user, it will be interesting to read what your impressions of MorphOS2.4 are, compared to what ever other computer operating system you are/were using before trying MorphOS2.4.

Actually he has spent money on three copies of MorphOS. He also has a PegasosII. Well, amigadave, he didn't know where to change the font colour...

You're right, he is an former amiga user (since -91) and he has used MorphOS from version 0.4. Regarding my impressions of MorphOS, I haven't used it enough to give a fair opinion. But I like it so far. ;-)

Glad you like it, MorphOS is good and can be even better in the future, but it is hard to guess if it will survive to see it's own future. We need more users, like you, who are not from an Amiga background and also need more developers to write programs and utilities that are necessary to make MorphOS more acceptable as a mainstream OS so we can get even more new users and developers.

Give us another report of your impressions of MorphOS six months from now, after you have had some time to get used to it and find out just how much you can do with it and the programs that have already been written for it.
