    Yes! Any problem with that?

Why am I showing such an enthusiasm? Well, because, after a long delay on my part, I finally installed MorphOS 2.3 yesterday in my Pegasos I. In few words:

    MorphOS
    is
    da
    SHIT!

I don't know what it is, but it still makes me drool over it. And I just wanted to post a thread here just for the sake of shouting ity out loud.
It's usual that forums get filled with thinks that don't work, or people dislike. That's natural, because when something works right, people don't comment about it. This thread is about the opposite, positive attitude. Only the good thiings, there's enough bad things posted elsewhere.

What do you like about MorphOS, inits current release? Here is my list, unfortunately, some of it is about not so important things. But I still mention them, because they have that drool factor:

    - Installation (from scratch) is lovely simple.

    - Boots in a breeze.

    - My LCD 22" monitor got recognized up to its native resolution.

    - A USB stick that didn't work now does.

    - Attention to detail shows everywhere. The aesthetics are as good as ever.

    - The Commodore 64 screen blanker! Man, that's by far the best mix of humour and class that I've seen in a computer in ages! A blast to the past that had me both crying and laughing, remembering when I was young, and computers were fascinating machines, not office tools or home comodities. How was it done? A recorded session in an emulator? Is it a full C-64 inside MorphOS?

Help me make this list much longer!

Sort of. The commands you see on screen are real and they work for real. Also the calculations and var handling is real and working like on C64. Its not a real session. Its a collection of small thingies we did in the old days. Those sections are played randomly. Its possible to change type speed, colors and the entire text stream by using the blanker config.

    - Fresh: a system that let make you operate in almost every way you like without the fear you crashed/corrupted/destroyed something :-)
    - Young: well, it seems strange... I know MorphOS is not a "newbie" OS but I feel like its potential abilities are totally inexplored.
    - Modern: That's style... I cannnot discuss about. Once telephone were big objects: today you can handle one with two fingers. Small, powerful, efficient. In a very small space. Like MorphOS, exactly.
    - Configurable: practice is everything. But what about an operating system in wich you can touch almost all kind of configurations? And without call a NASA engineer... :-)
    - Beautyful: why not?!? Have you ever feel to uneasiness touching another OS? MorphOS is much more comfortable. And you know how to make it more atractive in every moment. With few clicks...

    I'll add something myself:

    - Even if it's very small, it's esay to strip out components that you don't use, so it becomes even smaller and leaner. Other operating systems need specific "builds" to reduce unneeded functionality. In MorphOS, with some care, it's a matter of deleting files. And best of all, many of those "extras" still work from separate partitions, as MorphOS programs tend to be self contained in a high degree, instead of having huge and obscure dependencies on the boot partition.

Thas why i have already married my MorphOS boxes.

In fact i have a little multiple relationship, because when efika doesn?t like my USB Pen(nis) my Pegasos 2 wants it all in her slot.

    Oh yeah! ;)

    @Amiades

My all-mighty A2000 is like an old-good granma.

When my Pegasos or efika are in "those days of month" or have a "headache-tonight", i go back to visit my beloved A2k, which happens to turn even better when she takes out his false teeth and...woohoo :)

    Yumi ;)

The lewd tone of these comments makes one wonder... Aren't we too much passionate about our computers? YAY!

(then why am I writing in english here?)
