First of all i'd like to greet all members of this forum.

I'm new here, i'm newbe in Amiga world, and i'm newbe in MorphOS. That's why i have some questions:
(of course, what else i can have )

1. Right now i'm planning to get Efika system. Is it a right decision or it will be better to wait until Efica2 appear?
Let me explain why i'm asking this question:
As far as i know from posts on that forum and some other forums, there are some sort of "troubles" with Efika2's mass production (or something like that). Is it true?
And does the MorpOS will work at once on new hardware or it will be necessary to wait untill the MorphOS will be optimised for new hardware?
So i think that it's better to have Efika1 and use MorphOS right now then wait for Efika2 not known when.
Am i rigt?

2. Does MorphOS support UTF-8 (directory names, file names, etc.)?

3. Does MorphOS's browsers (Sputnik i guess, or any other) support UTF-8 (fonts, links, etc.)?

4. Are there any ICQ-IM client for MorphOS (also with UTF-8 support)?

1. Efika 2 will not come sooner. So the solution is to by Efika 5200B now. It's cheap and silent. But there is also not enough memory for a "serious" desktop use.
The other solution is to buy a second hand Pegasos I ou II.

3. Yes but partially. The is support for some non-latin language (Russian,...)

Better don't wait for the Efika2. Unfortunately the hasn't materialized yet, and once it will have then there will be quite some development needed to support it.
The cpu does work a bit different to the 5200B (in fact not the core, that is identical, but the cache management), there is (at least to my knowledge) no support the the gfx core of the 5121 and no support for AXE (which is not neccessary to run the 5121).
But the worst of all: No suport for the Efika2 has been confirmed officially yet (I really hope once it is available support will be given).

The Efika1 is still available, but has some flaws:
You need to craft and tinker around to build a proper housing (but OTHOH that can be fun).
It has a slow IDE controller, only usb 1.1 and only 128 MB ram (which is in most cases sufficient, but for some apps a bit low).

But once it is up and running it is a fine piece of tech - at least I really like my Efika.

Indeed, there are several dealers who sell complete sets. But if you like to work with your Dremel (or the likes) it's fun to craft a housing yourself. Plus it gets considerably cheaper that way.

I am a Morphos newbie too, installing Morphos wasn't that difficult with a little help left and right.
