>>1. Lieing about product development
>When? OS4 release date? in 2001-2002 OS4 project was
>really different from now
You know and I know at the end of the day that this is just spin, nothing was actually developed when Amiga Inc continued to make the claims. Moving the project to Hyperion enabled the perfect excuse to validate the spin. However, to make it worse...Ben Hermans continued to propagate the spin claiming 'a few more weeks/months' for years. Thankfully he stopped that.
At the end of the day, this happens in business all the time..so it's fairly easy to forgive/forget this one from the perspective of someone who has worked in the IT industry for 12 years.
From a users perspective it's the worst kind of misleading - it promotoes unrealistic expectations.
From a competetitors point of view, this is the worst kind of FUD since it damages potential sales.
>>2. Deliberate interference in Amithlon
>I don't know
I don't have all the facts either but I watched Bill McEwen demo it as an product which would get 'Amiga Inc' seal of approval and then all hell broke loose with H&P....I guess the coders have the full story.
One thing I missed on the subject of interference was the deliberate FUD about MOS being based on stolen source....
>>3. SCAMing everybody with fake discount coupons (this club >>and the Party Pack)

>3-50$ discount on A1+OS4 (final?).
I joined right at the start when terms and conditions were very different. The discount was $50 off an A1 *or* a free copy of OS4. When the club was launched, OS4 was on schedule and rocking. The clarification that we must await end-user release of OS4 was to come much later.
>Point 3 is the more important, but OS4 final isn't yet released. >We'll see, anyway is better than nothing. Remember that
>KMOS bought Amiga Inc a little ago, and maybe they are only >now operative.
C'mon, that's just spin. Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me.

I followed all this in intimate detail, but thanks for the reminder anyway
>Imho as an A1 users, the most important thing is OS4, and it

I won't argue with this. I wish the project well and hope that one day the hardware will come down to realistic prices, not jacked up by licensing fees that add no value to the end user.
I also feel there is very little point in going over old ground - I don't think mis-represented any of the events above.
My whole point was that Amiga Inc had done far more damage than a $50 T-Shirt should cover up.
This really has no place on MZ, so this is my last contribution to the thread, pmail me if you feel the need.
