Do you honestly think Genesi considers running MOS on the blades?

    Why not ?

Why aren't you running MOS on your 4- node Pegasos-cluster?

It would simply cost way too much at this stage. Maybe 10+ years
into the future. That's about what it took for Microsoft to
go from their Win16 to Windows 2000 Datacenter Edition.

    EDIT:
Don't get me wrong - I love MorphOS. However, making an
OS to meet the standards in many markets (desktop, server
and embedded) would be too hard and consume way too much
    resources.

It is better to further develop it as a desktop system and
make conversions for STB (that leap ain't too far).
Making it a server system wouldn't pay off - use Linux for this
    instead.

For the record: MorphOS and Gentoo are my main OS'es. I use
Windows only when I must (application-wise).

I agree with you, ironfist, but I think people buy a desktop os basically on the basis of these few points:
    - not being Windows
    - having a great looking and highly customizable GUI
    - having good browser
    - having common apps
    and last, but not least
    - BEING TRENDY
So, to let MorphOS become a trend, you first have to let people know it on a large scale.
Something like a little big innovative implementation...
That's why I would develop a minimalistic MorphOS to create a sort of really small media os...
Something similar to the focus shift that Be did a few years ago, but, well... Trying not to end up like it! ;-)

Yes, Linux is a good networking operating system in my opinion.

However, MorphOS have capabilities too for certains purposes, not necessarily networking.

And I also agree with RockmanX posts, very good points I think.

So why would you put MOS in a Blade-server if MOS isn't
    suited for networking?

Ok, coming back to you here :-)

In matter of fact it is you who now just got the commision to look into which way is the best to make use of MorphOS on a Blade server or into a networking envinronment ;-)
