My thoughts: No more developers boards for end-users! Also, it will be
very expensive, I don't know about what OS it will run besides Linux,
and it has very little chance of becoming something real in this
market, even though the board already exists. I mean, the "developer"
is actually asking for donations to purchase his own first board. Wow.
No this so called "project" will stop at the dream-level, like so many
other fantasy projects we have seen. It will stop with the webpage.

I think it would be more interesting to see hardware with the new
upcoming G4 chips from Freescale. The dual core ones will reach quite
similar level of performance, they are 32-bit, they won't need liquid
hydrogen to be cooled down, they won't require a Tjernobyl power
supply next door, and the system itself will be a lot cheaper. Many
system things are integrated directly on the chip, wich both reduces
costs and improves overall system performance, like dual DDR2 memory
controllers, gigabit ethernet, etc. *That* is interesting IMHO.
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

Chances that it would run MorphOS are pretty low. But before that AmigaFive guy needs money to buy an evaluation board[b]s[/s], send samples, get contacts etc. It all costs money.

    Absolutely nothing!

If that guy wants to build such a maschine and *believes* that he can do it, he just should go to a bank and ask for a credit or work hard and save the money of his own. It seems highly amateurish and doubtful to me.

I guess he does not know what he's talking about. How will he do it? Grab a single momentum board and his soldering iron and attach somewhere on the pcb a serialata controller and FW-800 and hope it will work? Well, he may go ahead and learn his lesson, but please from his own money...

The $6000 figure is suspicious mainly because we all know that you can buy, from Momentum, the same stuff without a clear perspex case or blank hard disk (it still comes with a board + schematics though) for $4500.

That, and if the guy wanted to do this he could just get a bank loan and not involve PayPal or disappoint the community.

And how much will the OS4 license cost? Or a license to run MorphOS?
