You guys are all over any open source game you manage to wander across! I mean, I never knew there were so many good open source games! ;-)

    Hi,

Hm, according to the readme this "...package contains all of the server side game code...".

I also gave the files a (really) short look and could not find any draw routines or so.
So, I'm afraid, that you are only able to host a server but are unable to play it on a Pegasos.

You people have GOT TO STOP doing this.

When a games company releases source code for a game, it is usually after the game has been on budget for years. It usually contains some 100MB or more of source code. You can't fit the source code of a reasonably complex game in 2.3MB :D

You can, however, fit all the code that is required or recommended for creating mods and models for the game. Quake has this "source code", Quake II, Quake III, UT, every damned FPS out there.

You make yourself look like total idiots when you run around saying "LOOK LOOK THEY RELEASED SOURCE, SOMEONE SHOULD PORT IT!!"

    1) the chances of someone releasing the source for such a game is minimal at best

    2) if you can't port it yourself, what makes you think anyone else will just because you jumped up and down like a weenie on a message board?

Give me a break, and give it a rest, please.

You'll find it here: http://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake3/source/Q3A_TA_GameSource_127.exe along with the Toolsource: http://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake3/source/Q3A_ToolSource.exe

    Hi,

Oh, well. Reading any accompaniing texts would be a little bit better for my weak heart.

"Game source code for version 1.17 of Quake III Arena. Generally used by mod developers. This does not include any engine source (i.e. rendering, network, etc.)."

Especially the last sentence is the important one.

So, if you stumble over sourcecodes on the net always ask yourself: Is this the full source, or just part of it (like in this case).
