I just bought a 23" Samsung 4K TV. I wanted to see if my AmigaOne X5000, with its ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card and 1GB of memory, could display very high resolutions, i.e., higher than 1920x1080. I've connected the computer to the television using an hdmi cable. Unfortunately, whether I boot from the internal static-electronic storage or from a CD-R with the MorphOS iso burned onto it, I can't get any resolutions higher than 1920x1080 using the 'Displays' preference. Do I need to create or edit the 'Monitors' preference for another monitor and add the 2560x1440 resolution to it? I don't know if 3840x2160 would work even with my current graphics card. Or would I risk running out of graphics memory?
If any of you have tried and succeeded in displaying very high resolutions I'd want a few explanations on how I do it.
You might need to create such resolution with monitor prefs. Assuming you have an actual HDMI output you should ve able to get 2560x1440@60Hz for 4k you would be down to 30Hz which the TV may or may not line.
