My first post. Been here a while, in and out but was waiting on ME to make up my mind about buying a PEG II. New house, money left over for my pleasure and thinking of taking the next step.

    1. When comparing Morph with other OS's, whats missing?

    2. Whats available for Morph - commercial, shareware, freeware etc. to complete the OS?

    3. Most recommended Amiga software to help complete the OS? Non-UAE.

    4. I use broadband - DSL, is Morph ready out of the box?

    5. What commercial games are written for Morph?

    6. CD & DVD Burning - best software?

    7. Any other software or hardware REC.?

    1. Currently bunches of stuff. MOS currently runs only under the A-Box which is an implementation (to the best of my knowlege) of the Amiga api.

    2. Anything Amiga that doesn't bang on the hardware directly. There are more and more titles being ported to MOS.

    3. Can't help you here.

    4. No. You will need a TCP/IP stack. I use amitcp 4.0 demo. until MOS 1.5 is release (rumor has it amitcp 5 will be in it.)

    5. Click here for starters. There are quite a few and more should be coming. Plus all of the amiga games.

    6. Click here for BurnIT.

    7. Can't help you here.

You should get on ARCNet IRC in #morphzone and #morphos and talk with the users in there also. "The Bar" doesn't hit the front page so some people may not see your message.

Speaking of TCP/IP, if anyone can locate the missing AmiTCP 3.xxb files that dissappeared from the Aminet, I'de be grateful. It was non-demo, and should be functional enough to use (sans gui though).

I've been poking around looking for it for a while now without any luck.

I thought AmiTCP came with Morph OS. At least that is what it says at morphos.net included in morphos as part of MorphOS itself. in the bundle. ? ? ?

Yeah thats what it says. :-? . But it doesn't come in or with 1.4 :xxx:. All rumors point to the 1.5 release having it built in. It was a bit of a let down but with a little play and help I got mine online. But it is getting better all the time, I don't regret my purchase one bit!!!!

So far the consensus is "when it is done"... Hopefully it won't (shouldn't) turn into and OS4 type release...........

Here is the Web Site about Alien Nations for MOS/AOS. You might try emailing them to get more info as the site doesn't have much.
